She killed a lot of troops.
First Order troops.

Phasma is EVERY bit as competent as Boba Fett.

Exactly! I'm having low expectations for Episode 9. Lots of cool pictures and a few scenes for the Knights of Ren. But that's all we got to go on.
Those Elite Praetorian Guard from TLJ throne room fitght were wicked cool. I want more of those guys.

Or Piett... or Ackbar...

Piett I get.. he was just trying to stay alive, but yeah, Ackbar.. pointing out the obvious. 😜

Ackbar led a force that was outgunned 1,000 to 1 even before adding the Death Star in that equation. And while he has many accomplishments and heroics in Canon and the EU, without listing those let’s give him one credit that he deserves: Ackbar kept assets of the Rebel fleet cohesively secure, more or less intact and fully combat ready for just the right opportunity. That’s not a small task.
Now Piett ...
If only The Empire had a more capable Fleet Admiral other than that pompous career officer at The Battle of Endor my lifelong recurring nightmares would have never come to be.

She did however get used like crazy in the marketing for both movies and built up as an competent character. In empire, Boba just shows up and does his job and gets payed.
Still goes out like a chum though 😛

Boba was also used for the marketing of Empire Strike Back, only to have 2 lines in the entire movie, and then dying in the next one.

Well he wasn't hyped up in a new hope and introduced as this cool character with a awesome actor to give a female spin on a star wars bad guy.
I mean the Boba hype is a bit weird as it's just the cool armor. I thought they wouldn't double down and so the same thing again, but worse. That is however the least of the last jedi movie, it's sad that Ryan got so much free room to tank a promising trilogy.
Episode 9 better be the stuff of dreams to bring back the hype for the sequal universe. Then I will support a sequal era core set 😋.
I gotta stop getting into these conversations.

Marketing and fans expections of the seventies/eighties, meet the marketing and fans expectations of 2015. Pretty sure that if The Empire Strike Back would have been made in 2015, Boba Fett would have been hyped up as **** and that fans would have expected him to be a part of half the movie.
For my part, Phasma did her part in the movies, and now with the book about her origin and the comic book set between 7 and 8, have grew up to be a very interesting character.

What was her part?
Help lower the Shields of starkiller base? Then die I guess 😋.
Bah, Enjoy your movie. I just don't understand how you can 🙃

She was advertise as being one of the leaders of the First Order and that's what she was in the movie. She led the attack on Jakku prior to the arrival of Kylo Ren (we see from here that he is her superior) and we see from multiple dialogue that she is the direct leader of Finn and in charge of the endoctrination program of the First Order troopers. We first see her as a zealot member of the organisation, only to find out in the end that she is not so fanatic after all and thinks about her own survival before anything else; she will not sacrifice herself for the greater good of the First Order, which is interesting coming from the person specifically in charge of the endoctrination program. All this leads to interesting stories about her character in other media (how she survived from Starkiller and erased proof of her betrayal in a comic serie, and how she came to join the First Order in a book).
Yes, ultimately, in the movies her major parts is to lower the shields so that the Resistance can attack Starkiller in The Force Awaken (which is important to the plot) and then to give closure to Finn in The Last Jedi (which is also important to the plot). She played her parts in the movies for the story they have to tell and now gets expended as a character in other media... That's pretty much Star Wars to you since the beginning: The movie tells a story and then everything gets expended from it, even up to a guy running around Bespin with an Ice Cream Maker.
Now if you'll excuse me, I'll go enjoy my movies and prepare myself for the release of Episode 9 (god, I can't wait!).
Pablo Hidalgo says the Knights of Ren are named.

Since it’s Disney -
Happy, Sleepy, Dopey, Doc, Bashful, Sneezy and, not pictured, Kylo (Grumpy)

I'm waiting for the Knights of Ren take off their helmets and reveal themselves as Jar-Jar's Gungan disciples.
ALL HAIL DARTH JAR-JAR!

Painful.
But still on the level of some of George Lucas’ plans.

Like, seriously. Put this up against anything by Filoni and you'll get a quick picture of which wins out.
Ren’s Face
Not Ben/Kylo, Ren’s

@Imperial Advisor Arem Heshvaun, I ended up buying both issues of this as well as Age of resistance "Kylo Ren" "Snoke" and "Hux" and all 4 of the allegiance books last night. Haven't had a chance to read all of them but I've enjoyed what I've seen so far. Kylo ren rising is an interesting book series, I'm curious if revelations from Rise of Skywalker will have an effect on their plans for Snoke, who they seemed to have been flushing out.
