Starkiller Base is Ilum according to datamined files from Jedi First Order
Identity of Second Sister has been confirmed, but since it’s an in game spoiler I’ll keep it for gamers to discover.

It can't be. Starkiller Base has trees, Ilumn does not. I'm sure this is wrong. Unless they changed the planet in canon more than just making lightsaber crystals all the same type of crystal.
Edit: Not calling you a liar, whatever source you got it from could though. I don't believe it's Starkiller base, I think Disney made a new planet for TFA

I mean, that level of oversight is small fries compared to some of their other mistakes, so I wouldn't at all be surprised.

That's fair, though if that is the case that'll make even more fans mad who have concluded Ilumn isn't Starkiller because of the trees like I have. It won't ruin too much for me but still... That'd be an idiotic mistake.
ninth sister looks like Desann's relative in a uniform from the Jedi Outcast series

There's a lot of ways that could be explained. None of them particularly good if you ask me though....
Could be the Empire or First Order did landscaping during the planet's conversion into a weapon? From what I understand the Empire stripped the surface. It would make sense if you're building a planet sized super weapon/base you'd spruce the place up a bit? I guess?
Maybe it isn't star killer base, just has a similar hole dug in it? Maybe they did it to Ilum and had to change planets for some reason?
I'll be curious to see what comes of it either way...

Paraphrasing a certain Robot Chicken Star Wars sketch: "What kind of God would create a planet with just one single topographical feature?"
It's status quo for Star Wars planets to have only one type of environment across the whole planet. But Illum may have cold-adapted trees on it and we never saw that part of the planet in the Clone Wars show.

I do wonder how it will play out in the long run thought. Old EU pretty much went by each story doing whatever they wanted. As a hardcore Boba Fett fan it was crazy how some stuff had him stay dead, some had him live, and one had him get out of the pit and ride a sandcrawller back into it lol. Most of my friends had their own story of how Leia got hold of the Death Star plans (one insist that Han Solo got the plans from Boba Fett lol). So I wonder how canon will now hold up now that every comic, tv show, book, and video game now goes by the same rules and world. Also find it strange how they let so many mistake thought when they straight up got a guy whos whole job is to make sure everything jives.

Most likley this. They got almost 40 years to fix that error and Star Wars plays fast and loose with logic.

Who knows.
A lot can happen over 50 years.
Maybe the trees were planted to stabilize the atmosphere to support perpetual usage by the first order. I couldn't tell you the logistics of how much air the entire first order breathes over the course of 20-30 years, but if it was an issue, it seems to make sense that some trees are cheaper than some space tech life support?
Maybe the trees were just part of terrain that was brought to the planet after the super weapon was built to create ground that could be traversed by foot?
Or more likely, it's a retcon over the EU version that simply has trees on some parts of the planet like these guys said...

Uh... no.
Not going to say that there weren't contradictions, but the EU clearly, and most definitely had Boba Fett escape the sarlacc, and live for decades. Never herd of the sandcrawler one, that sounds more Robot Chicken than an actual SW story. People often seem to get Infinities stories mixed up with the actual EU, when they were never supposed to be anything but one shots.
Was it ever stated in the current Disney canon that Illum had no tree anywhere or was it just assumed based on the Clone Wars show and the old EU?

"Unfortunately for Fett, it was at this point that his memory came back due to Leia shouting Han's name repeatedly. Fett fired on the unarmed Solo before he managed to free him from the sandcrawler, causing Solo to jump onto the sand. The sandcrawler, with Fett still in it, crashed into the mouth of the Sarlacc, trapping Fett once more. Solo once more thought that Fett was dead." - The wook
Think its a comic, but Legends now and I was super far behind with all of them. Somebody in this forum reminded me about that stupid story. I was always with the belief that the old Eu contradicted each other and fans just picked their favorite stories. Like a good old fashion fairy tale.
I would think old EU would have mix feelings on George Lucas selling Star Wars. Sure no new stories, but no longer would Lucas come in steal the best ideas from the books and comics and throw them into his work (Korriban into Moraband). I always hated the old canon hierarchy. I swear that Lucas changed his mind on Boba Fett living or dying several times over the years, but his relationship with the fandom was not the best.

It's assumed based on the Episode from the show and the fact that it was an iceball that had week long nights(and yes the old Eu as well of course)

Do you think that just maybe the process of turning a planet into a superweapon might change its climate?
The Starkillerbase is much smaller than our moon.
How small/big is Ilum?
EDIT: Ilum has a diameter of 5780 Kilometers. So no, Starkillerbase and Ilum cannot be the same.

source? Just curious if we can finally put this one to bed.
