I was inspired to start a thread that had nothing but ridiculous squad names after reading @Boom Owl 's Worlds Meta list . My Belbullab-22 thread's long since sunk to the bottom of the pile, but I still like entertaining names or wordplay. For example, I recently flew a list I called Vipe Your Nose because its intent was to get up close and beat other lists until their noses were bloody. It used two fully-loaded Vipers (hence the "Vipe" part).
It didn't succeed with as much gusto as I'd hoped.
"Book 'Em," was Miranda, Blue Squadron Pilot, and Warden Squadron Pilot.
Pun laden, amusing or relevant squad names has been something I've always enjoyed.

RAC Attack - RAC & Vermeil (1st Ed)
Oicunn SMASH! - Oicunn (with Intimidation & Dauntless), Howlrunner, 2x Acadamies (1st Ed)
Blue Bloods - Countess Ryad, 2x Royal Guards (1st Ed)
Royal Punishment - Cutlass, 2x Royal Guards + something (1st Ed)
Great Ryad's Ghost - Ryad, Echo, Nu squadron pilot (1st Ed)
Petrichor - Whisper, Echo & Deathrain (cause I was feeling needlessly poetic and petrichor is the ghost of rain)
Skariff Skies - Vermeil, Duchess, Pure Sabac, Scimitar Squadron
Tarking Care of Business - Patrol Leader w. Tarkin, 4x Academy Pilots
V for Victory - Vynder, Vessery, Ved Folso
Red Tokens and You'll Like it that way! - Vermeil, Sai, Whisper (back when the Phantom carried crew) w. Vader, 0-0-0, ISB Slicer, Deathtroopers and Jamming Beam to basically put out red tokens and limit people's ability to remove them
Here to Ruin Your Day - Deathrain, Redline, Night Beast, Countdown (in the early days of 2.0 when both punishers were loaded to the absolute gills and thus threw out Trajsim bombs and tops all day long)
Got Ordnance? - Deathrain, Redline, Captain Jonus (same as the above but with Jonus to add rerolls, and more ordnance!)
A bombing striker list: Sloop, Poop, Regroup
Before Parattanni I toyed with other Attanni lists.
Names was Attanni Siblings/Attanni Bros and best one for 4 ship list was Glory4Scum.
Turned out most powerful one had most cheesy name which sticked
I made an FO list not long ago, based on a Kylo/QD archetype with no Kylo and with Backdraft. Ofc, it was titled "I'll Show You The Backside".
My Asajj/Latts/Torani list is "Fatal Attraction". Which is not funny but is kinda cute.
Naturally, Fenn plus 3 is "The Fenntastic Four", but that's pretty obvious.
All of my Inquisitorius lists, which prominently feature decloaks and various Reflexes, end up being "The Unexpectables".

Yep - morbid describes this pretty well. Still, gallows humour does have some unique funny moments, for sure. There's a lot to appreciate in something like, say, Dr. Strangelove.
