Ah, good, clears that up then!

No B-Wings. 2/10.

Dumb poster is dumb.

Considering the TIE Interceptor, the TIE Advanced and the Inquisitior's TIE are just buffed TIE/lns, we have a lot more than 4 TIE Fighters. ;)

You forgot the TIE/rb, aka TIE Brute.

Ah, fair enough. I guess I was mis-remembering the cartoon's take on the T-85 and confusing it with some other earlier (and I suppose unofficial) takes on the T-85 which gave it more rectangular intakes, such as:

Those look more like modded T-65’s. Especially the one in front. It’s lost the bottom laser cannons for some kind of missile rack. There’s better picture of those is another thread.

It's no T-65.

Aside from the primary intakes-that-aren't-intakes-but-actually-reverse-thrusters, there's not one thing in common. Its S-Foils are scissors too.

I don’t believe I said it was a T-65b exactly. The X-wings supporting it are not the same as the lead, which seems to be a far more modified craft, but even they seem to have the newer intakes.

These could possibly be retrofitted T-65’s with updated engines parts, or a T-65c or D. The engines look like a bridge between the T-65 and T-70.

The lead however seems like a unique modification in my mind.

But without more info who knows. This doesn’t seem like a jump between the T-70 to T-85 aesthetically imo.

We are never getting the B-wing are we?

Just let it be something that's not a damned OT subvariant holy crap...

Random guesses include a sensor slot, statline of 3 red 3 green 4 hull 2 shields, definitely boost, i like the a wing dial minus green turns idea, maybe cut the 1 hard since its a little larger?

Id agree. 1 turn implies manoeuvrability more than raw speed. 5 straights and maybe a long white koiogran? I'd be tempted to say full throttle too, but then we are basically turning into "knock-off TIE defender"....

Very well made from the looks of it.

Ooh, fascinating..!

I like the T-85 design overall, it's just the S-foils not lining up properly that bothers me. I love EC Henry's version where they do.

It'll look better when we see it more often. Guarantee it.

And when it’s not a cartoon representation, our best look at it so far.

Here's the T-70 from the first episode for comparison, I agree with others that it's just the style they used for animation for where the hinge is.

This is generally known as the T65 XJ3. They were a legends early new republic model of the X-wing. I really like it and wish these and the T65BR had made it into the game as late war variants. Maybe you were just posting it as a reference for the never-realized concept that you mentioned

While I like it, the fact that this thing comes after the E-Wing shows one of the biggest issues the EU ever had.

A complete unwillingness to move on from the Original Trilogy.

"But Kara, doesn't Disney have that problem?"

Yes and no. Because at least, more often than not, newer iterations of old designs are... Well, newer. I mean, name one thing the T-65 and RZ-1 have over their descendants..? Honestly? Nothing, they're strictly better and more streamlined, both. ****. Even the BTA-NR2 can say that for itself, definitively.

But the EU just kept making variants of the T-65, to the point there were almost 15 T-65 variants. Some of which, like the Tandem X-Wing, should have been called something else entirely!

That said I did always really dig the **** out of this one, but it's my target example.
