I wonder if era is ment to imply era within the Star Wars galaxy's timeline or just solidify a break from the Skywalker family centric story that the movies to date, other than Solo, have focused on.

This is great and all, but Kevin Feige is known for a specific type of movie.

When they announced the expansion of Star Wars storytelling we were promised different types of movies that weren't all-out big budget action movies. I suppose between this and Benioff and Weiss and JJ Abrams, that idea has passed.

You could see where Solo had been tried to be pulled in this direction, and I assume they would have been allowed to pull it off if it didn't star as big of a name as Han Solo.

Sigh, maybe someday.

I believe that Disney+ will take us into that direction.

Big movies part of trilogies every 2-3 years in theater, and tv shows and other type of movies to expand the universe on the streaming channel.

This only getting "Star Wars" was evident with "Rogue One." The thing to me played like it started out as "Full Metal Jacket" and then they turned it into "The Green Berets." Remember this is all product cinema by market focus group. How do you think Vader ended up in the thing?
