I don’t know if this has been fully discussed, but I’d like to get some insight/clarifications on Plo’s ability, specifically as a possible way to counter what I’m expexting will be a heavy Nantex meta.

So, as you know, I’m new, so I’m just going to break it down (for myself) with the following statements:

-tractor tokens are orange and circular.

-Nantex receives tractor token during Activation phase upon completion of maneuver

-end of activation phase Ensnare transfers ship to enemy

-Nantex forces tractored ship to boost or BR

-Plo transfers tractor token to himself at the beginning of the engagement phase

-Original tractor target is now able to utilize full dice on its rolls

-tractor tokens are cleared at the end of the engagement phase

My question is, are all of these statements true, so far? Am I missing something or misunderstanding something?

Finally, WILL Plo be able to boost and/or BR himself even though it’s during the Engagement phase?

I think that’s it. I’m not going to presume that truly is a pure counter to Nantex, but it’s just something that came to mind while reading through the rules again and I wanted to make sure these abilities work exactly as described

Yes, this is all accurate, and yes, Plo's player gets to choose whether and where to move him upon receipt of the tractor token.

It's not ambiguous timing-wise, as Plo's timing is strictly after Ensnare.

Ok great! When you say Plo goes off directly after ensnare, the Nantex player still gets to boost/BR (let’s just say it’s Obi Wan) Obi before Plo steals the token, right? That part is never going to be preventable?

Correct. Ensnare takes place at the end of activation, Plo at the beginning of engagement, so the former has to be completely resolved before the latter can trigger, and before the latter can assess whether Obi-wan is in range for his ability.

Again, I’m not experienced enough to assume this is a viable strategy against Nantex. It’s doubtful people would start playing Republic JUST for Plo’s ability, however, perhaps an existing Rep. player with a 2x Jedi + X squad might consider having Plo as his second Jedi?

correct up until that point. tractor tokens are removed during the end phase, not at the end of the engagement phase.
