Republic Epic, or: It's ok that there's no Republic CR-90 titles!

By KCDodger, in X-Wing

With the app, FFG could easily add some Republic titels later. Yes, you would lack a piece of card on the tablet but it can be done.

There's also the card packs, they might as well at some point.

Just play the Rebel titles in your Republic list.

Its casual, you can do whatever the flippity **** you want.

They probably won't make new models for the TFA X-Wings, probably just a title c-

Ah, right.

Fair point. I just think between the two, the Pelta is more interesting. However, it had never made it to the big screen, so who knows?

Pelta is just too big.

And I am sad to recently discover that some lame editor for an encyclopedia just made the Hammerhead Corvette "just too big," too. 😡

True.

Any yet it is also nice to be able to do everything in a listbuilder. Unless it's official, you can't do it without cobbling stuff together messily.

Official Is Always Best (TM).

Hammerhead can fit in Epic!

The complete NINCOMPOOPS used the Cruiser's length.

Hammerhead is absolutely the next Rebel (and Republic?) huge ship.

Absolutely, and judging by Rebels it can actually be in proper 1:1 scale with the fighters, tbh.

To be fair... (to be FAAAIIIIRRRR)

... this did get written up in the Wook section about problems with the Encyclopedia:

Quote

The book establishes that the Sphyrna-class corvette was 315 meters in length, placing it longer than an EF76 Nebulon-B escort frigate at 300 meters according to Star Wars: The Rebel Files. As depicted in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story and Star Wars Rebels, the Sphyrna-class is visually closer in length to a CR90 corvette, which measures at 150 meters, also according to Star Wars: The Rebel Files.

So, while they didn't correct it in the entry for the Sphyrna-class (aka Hammerhead) corvette, they do at least admit that its closer to the CR90 corvette in the actual media it appears in, and not a larger cruiser size.

Side tangent edit: I'm kind of wondering if Wook didn't put too many eggs in one basket with the Encyclopedia, and are afraid of allowing other things to override it as the source of truth. But cmon guys, the friggin Star Wars movies say it

Then they should correct it, because people are going to look at that length, shrug, and take it as gospel.

It happened endlessly to the HWK-290.

That God forsaken book should be erased from existence, every single copy collected and burned on a huge celebratory pyre to the sound of "Yub Nub" and the remains dropped into the ocean in an undisclosed location.

Maybe there are no Republic titles because the Epic crowd is the most prequels-bite I-don't-watch-cartoons there-is-only-OT not-buying-prequel-expansions group. This way there are fewer cards for them to complain about in the expansion.

the epic crowd is the homebrew crowd, the prequel crowd, the shapeways custom crowd, and the "I-just-buy-the-models-crowd"... literally the most relaxed and casual people in the scene.

you have zero clue what youre talking about.

It's unbelievable how many crude errors there are in this book.
