Because uh, it's obviously a placeholder. Behold.
What you're actually gonna' get for Republic Epic down the line.
Consider the following. An Epic ship with force users on it. Not only that, a very good way to get Qui-Gon into the game (and a young Obi-Wan?) but also other Jedi seen aboard, such as Aayla Secura.
It's different from a CR-90, and has a peace and wartime variant, the Consular and the Charger c70. Don't worry, Republic lads.
Your time will come, and it will be PRETTY COOL.
Republic Epic, or: It's ok that there's no Republic CR-90 titles!
If no one buys the CR-90, raider or c-roc, FFG will not make any new huge ships though...

I have to hope they realize most players who will be buying huge ships already have these ones so they do a limited run and focus more on sales of the huge conversion kit.

Maybe initially, but they do need to allow for new players, and veterans who don't have all the Huge ships already.

Not being a proud owner of a CR-90, I now scour eBay and the UK X-Wing Swap/Sell FB groups in pursuit of one (as I'm getting a conversion kit anyway).
A Consular, however, would be the first Epic ship I'd pre-order and pay full price for. For some reason, I love that ship.
Maybe there are no Republic titles because the Epic crowd is the most prequels-bite I-don't-watch-cartoons there-is-only-OT not-buying-prequel-expansions group. This way there are fewer cards for them to complain about in the expansion.

Really? I guess I don't know too many Epic players, but the few I do know seem pretty keen on the prequel factions, even if they didn't like the movies themselves.

Understand that, but they have to know the huge ships net new will sell far less copies than the conversion or any other new ship. Hopefully that’s taken into account.
i for one am just buying a conversion kit and not the new huge ships we know of. However I’d happily buy a Consular for my republic. Or some net new ship for republic. Or a second scum ship.

I don't know. Anecdote not being data and all that. It just seems to me there is a reason for everything. And as far as I can tell there is only the single ship card that is specific to Republic in the expansion. So it is as OP says, Republic specific Epic ships in the pipeline or some sort of marketing decision (i.e. Epic market "hates" prequels) or such things didn't make it out of development.

Somebody shut him up or shut him down!!

Uh, I doubt it. If anything, I would think the Epic crowd is going to be the most interested in a broad swath of ways to play the game, and thus a lot of factions too.

Yeah, I still kinda don't get it, though.
The Tantive IV is Bail Organa's ship!! Why didn't they:
Make that title available for both factions
Include Bail as a commander, or, failing that
Make Raymus available for both factions (cuz Bail is off in the Senate and Raymus is in charge).
When people start making lists, are they really going to use the special titles? I find they tend to cost too much and rarely use them.

Do we know how much they cost already?

I'm buying a conversion kit, and maybe a Raider. I don't particularly like the looks, but there may be times when I would want it over a Gozanti.

In that case then perhaps it is the exact opposite and OP is right that we'll be getting lots of Republic Epic ships.
I haven't been following this too closely are there cards not in the preview article that are restricted to Republic other than the shown ship card? I haven't seen much prequel specific stuff in these Epic previews.

Does anyone here actually not want to re-create the Battle of Coruscant?

I'm pretty sure the existing ships are meant for Rebels, Imperials, and Scum, with the crossovers primarily existing to allow the prequels and sequels to have something until they get their own releases. To me, it seems primarily a stopgap measure.

If we are being technical, the Tantive IV seen at the end of RotS and the one seen in Rogue One/A New Hope are different vessels....or more accurately, the ship in Rogue One/A New Hope has received significant structural updates.
The ship at the end of the Clone Wars was a CR70 class corvette, which was then upgraded (via the Vanguard c20 refit suite) into a CR90; it notably increased the length of the ship.
This is splitting hairs, mind you. I'd have no objections to having the title apply to both Republic and Rebel CR90s, but that's the 'canon' explaination.

Uh, yeah.

Each title pretty significantly changes the specs of the ship. I think it's going to be a lot of fun trying to discern the optimized build for each title.
I did it in 1.0 for all the titles.

Is Captain Antilles that old? That's a 20 year difference.
To be honest, I'm surprised the CR90 isn't Resistance considering how ubiquitous it is post GCW and shown being used by them.
The CR90 does feel like a stopgap for the Republic to give them a large military feel without making the far more common CR70.

WELL?
YOU CAN FIX THAT.

Remember that time X-Wingers said "FFG hates the prequels"?
That was so hilarious.

Frankly, because Bail wasn't exactly military. Padme's a different case altogether.

It's all in the realms of possibility. Later twenties/early thirties at the end of the Clone Wars, near 50 when he gets a serving of Diet Choke from Vader.
33 minutes ago, JJ48 said:Do we know how much they cost already?
No, but I have seen how FFG does things, even with 2nd Ed. I'm expecting the titles to be not worth it much.

Yeah, I see what they do. I'm not sure they will be worth it. I rarely used the titles for the ships. I'm thinking it will be pretty easy to just use generics for a bit. I mean, do the titles really add THAT much to the game that you won't get it for the Republic?
