I have come here in need of some advice on list building. I have ran 3 storm squads with Vader and shore troopers and the games have ended with Vader dead and the shore troopers sat holding an objective but out numbered. This is most games for me, I try and use Vader as support for my advancing troopers, kind of like trying to force my opponent to decide shoot Vader then squad kills me or vice versa.

I play Imperials and have the following models:

Vader

x3 squads of 6 storm troopers with DLT

1 squad of shore troopers

Mortar

1 squad of scouts

What load outs would you recommend for vader and the sqauds?

What would be a good purchase next?

I'd recommend another commander, personally. Someone cheaper like Veers or Krennic would be a good start, though I personally like the Generic officer. That saves you points for more troops, though that would of course require you to buy more squads or units. Your cheaper commander can either run along side your guys as support, or babysit an objective, freeing up more important units for the job. Ideally, you don't want to over build your trooper units. Heavy weapon upgrades are almost a must, but beyond much, you shouldn't put too much on them. Grenades occasionally, but that's iffy. Fifth trooper if you have the points but can't shoehorn in a full unit (for any number of reasons), but if you can, don't bother with the extra guy. Only other upgrade I'd go with on the troopers would be recon intel.
