Just earlier this day I found out about the foundry. What I'm curious about there is: As nothing explicitely is stated in regards of computer programs or including ones own foundry entry also in a computer game, I guess that is prohibited (except if one gets into contact with FFG and gets a direct approval there from them) ?
Foundry Rules Question in regards to computer games
I’m also curious about this, since I’ve been building a flexible (as in adaptable for non standard character stats etc) character sheet/tracker app for myself, and I’ve been pondering releasing it for sale, knowing how the foundry “handles” software would be pretty handy even if I still have to talk to FFG to get permission to release for the App Store, etc.
I'm not quite following. Are you asking if you can sell computer games via the foundry? If that's the question, the answer is no because the content guidelines specifically say "no software or apps."
If your question is can you use your IP to make your own computer game, the answer is yes. You own your IP and can do whatever you want with it.
NOTE: I am not a lawyer, so take any and all advice with a grain of salt and always consult an IP lawyer if you don't understand any contract.

For me it was mostly if the rules per se allow the selling of software that uses Genesys rules. Or if I need to ask FFG if they approve. With your answer I understand I need to contact FFG there and ask them for permission.
tnx

The rules explicitly say no software, so a computer program that uses anything Genesys is a no-go.

What do you mean ? The Foundry rules are for the Foundry not generally. I think outside the Foundry it's the normal copyright laws that apply.
If you want to legally make money from Genesys content, you have to publish via Foundry, which means no software.
However, if you make something and give it to the community for free then you're not going to have many issues. See pretty much everything fan-published since launce 😛
If you are making an entire game based on FFG's IP and/or copyright material… consult FFG directly .

That is what I had meant with the game
(the last part). So when I'm far enough (aka 100% sure I would like to use the System for the game) I will have to contact FFG then and talk it out with them directly. tnx
