Is the SSD basically immune to Raid?

By xero989, in Star Wars: Armada Rules Questions

So Raid keeps a command from resolving so lets say an SSD has a nav raid token it reveals a nav dial and by revealing a dial it gets a matching token it can spend the token to discard the raid token and still use the nav dial latter in their activation.

Is this the correct interpretation of the rules?

Yep. It still makes Ravager sad and reduces command effectiveness a little, which hurts when such fleets have 1-2 major ships max. Raid would be so much better if tokens stacked.

Agreed, and there goes my idea to break sector fleet games.

Except for Rex. He would make the SSD have to use its dial on the raid token.

To my understanding he would not, because he doesn’t affect the ability to spend a command token to discard a matching raid token. He only makes spending the dial less useful .

”Can only discard 1 raid token [...] when” (easy error)

”Can discard only 1 raid token [...] when” (actual wording)

Ah. So Rex is expensive trash unless you gave an opponent who brought not a single way to generate command tokens.

Only if he’s your only source of raid.

Smacking a ship with the CloneWarsBros can still shut them down, because every token they spend killing raid tokens is one less token used on enhancing - or even doing - a Command.

Control is a multi layered approach. If you’re not layering, you’re not controlling, and being self defeating.
