Think we'll finally get premium bases for tanks now that the AAT and Saber are coming out? Maybe one each for the Occupier and the hovertank rounds?
Premium tank bases
Possible. I'd kinda expect they'd wait for a third type before selling them as premiums, but who knows?
I think it in part depends on how well the original premium bases sold. If they didn't sell particularly well, then FFG may determine it isn't worth their time and effort to produce bases for the tanks.
In the meantime, you could make your own using some green stuff and a roller or "crunch" plates from Green Stuff World. The roller method is pretty easy and something I'm using for a Bolt Action army I'm working on (city based Partisans). The Industrial or dump yard crunch plates would work fairly well.

What’s different about the premium base s compared to the ones you get?
They've got a "tech" floor pattern... Basically a cleaner version of the 40k/Necromunda ones.
As is I'm going to have an entire Droid army with perhaps one base that doesn't match. Not ideal.

At least you know which mini dies first...
Not sure I even want a premium tank base. The gav tank covers the whole thing and why would one of the new tanks even be indoors? That said, there could obviously be some new kind of premium base with gravel/sand/whatever already in place.
It wouldn't necessarily have to represent in doors or on a ship/station. Planets like Courscant could easily support an Occupier, and the basing would be similar to the premiums. I used them for my Droidekas because I don't think they make a dang bit of sense on most other terrains, and I've used them for units like Shocktroopers (the Imperial take on the Courscant Guard) as well as Rebel Fleet troopers. Having the ability to put an AAT on a premium base would be cool if you're going with an urban or Christophsis theme, so I do see the value for the Occupier, I'd just expect it'll be a while.
Also places like Utapau are fairly open while also having artificially made floors (not tech floors like these obviously)... matching basing on everything is desirable for most folks armies. As is airspeeders and AT-STs can both find appropriate bases and one would hardly expect an airspeeder flying around indoors.

No I do not. Big bases like that give you plenty of room to model your own details. Cramming details onto a little round base is hard for the average person. But even someone as inept as me, can glue skulls, discarded weapons, and rocks and stuff to a tank base.

While I do agree that it's unlikely and yes it's not hard to add stuff, well, having a single base out of your army that doesn't match any of the others is kind of awful. Matching bases are nice.

I concur. But I still don’t think they’ll make them.

To be fair, most of the detail on the tank bases gets lost under the tank, unlike most of the stuff we have. May see a kit with something like 2x the new one and the occupier...... but I highly doubt it

I've found the rollers work okay with the smaller bases, but for the larger base minis it's trickier to get it looking right, especially if you want to represent firing arcs.
I know they're not for everyone, but I've found the premium bases to be effective and relatively stress-free.
