not have a white frame on one side? The prior Electro-proton bombs have this frame. A similar one is on the 2nd Edition bomblets and the various remotes. Why did they leave this off the proton bomb and electro-proton bomb tokens in the Republic Y-wing?
Why do the new bomb tokens in the Republic Y-wing...

It would be as simple as that wouldn't it?
I was very disappointed as I was looking to increase my collection of specifically 2nd Edition bomb tokens. Now I feel like I have both 2nd Edition electro-proton bombs and 1st Edition electro-proton bombs when there were never 1st Edition electro-proton bombs. This is one of those things that increases my sympathy for those with compulsion issues.
Don't sweat the small stuff. The Devil's in the details.
Why is there a white frame?

So you can remember who dropped it (some effects reference friendly bombs)
So are you supposed to do something with the frame? Like place an ID token??

No, one player uses the framed side and the other the unframed side (also why DRK droids and Buzz droids have frames because who dropped them is super relevant)
But why frames. Why not some other visual indicator....
yeah, I want a holographic image of my face on my bomb tokens so my enemies will know from whence their destruction cometh...and I don't want to have to special order it.

why not?
I didn’t realise there was a character count now for titles and you couldn’t fit the whole question in. Interesting to know.

I did not hit a character limit. The question was just too long to do the whole thing as title. Too click-baity?

It is just a white border printed on the token on one side. As noted so you can tell who placed it. Simple solution to have two different sides.

Wave 5 in a nutshell, really.
Think they will see this as an Customer Service issue and send those interested white-framed tokens?
But if you think that's bad, at least we didn't get "smiley face" bombs as with the misprints on some of the new LotR LCG cards that replaced certain symbols with smiley emojis... though actually, I wouldn't mind smiley face bombs...

The basic rule book that comes with the core set tells you to each pick so that one player is white and one is black. Then both players mark every single ship they have with a number token showing the appropriately colored side of said token, so that you know what number target lock they have, as well as whose ship it is. All 2.0 released devices (should) also have this black side/white (border) side for the same reason.

So everything in the game is black or white? I thought only a Sith deals in absolutes.

The frame of your expanded consciousness, Dude. It's straight from Turkey. It will boogie woogie on your mind.

I believe so. Apparently it only affects the stuff printed in the most recent restock.
