Who would be better to take in a Bomber Ball Stele or Rhymer? Or any suggestions on changing the Ball is welcome
Bomber Ball #1
• Tempest Squadron (13)
• JumpMaster 5000 (12)
• 4 x TIE Bomber Squadron (36)
• 3 x TIE Defender Squadron (48)
• Maarek Stele (21)
= 130 Points
Or Bomber Ball #2
• Tempest Squadron (13)
• JumpMaster 5000 (12)
• 4 x TIE Bomber Squadron (36)
• 3 x TIE Defender Squadron (48)
• Major Rhymer (16)
= 125 Points
Imp Bomber ball Stele or Rhymer?
Stele. He'll hit like a truck against ships or squadrons. In fact, it's well worth including Jendon just so he can hit twice (the relay is nice too.) If I were you, I'd swap a defender for him in option #1.

Good point
Stele is arguably the best value:strength squadron the Empire has access to right now. He'scheap for what he brings to the table, and will work well in most fleets. Anti-squad? Check. Anti-ship? Check. Base stats? High hull and high speed, redundant Brace defensive tokens. Special guarantees hits.
Jendon and Stele are best bros, but coming in as a third wheel you've got Rhymer or Morna.
Why not both?

Because I would have to drop either 2 Tie Bombers or 1 Defender. Do not really want to do that, but it has crossed my mind. The nurf to Rhymer just makes me feel like he is not worth the 16 points. I will do a list with both and play it as well and see what happens
Rhymer is still good. The added range isnt crazy but also not insignificant.
That said I would still place him pretty far down on the list of aces to take. Unless you are playing pure bombers and carriers with no combat ships (which the imperials do extremely poorly) I'd even take Jonus before Rhymer.
With Maarek/Morna/Jendon still ruling the roost in terms of flexibility and damage, it's hard not to start there and build out.
That said, if you ARE going to go pure bombers, I'd plan on either including significant combat ships or running 1 or 2 ruthless strategists to wipe an enemy ball and still leave you with damage output.
Otherwise it's just a matter of nuke the intel and watch the bombers sit around all game slowly getting chewed down.

Thank you for this suggestion. Played this group last night and Stele with Jendon took out an A-wing on his first activation and accounted for 6 dmg on his first bombing run

Glad to hear it worked out, the Bros don’t mess around.
Bombing is especially deadly with Sloane, because if Maarek gets two hits he can turn one into a crit and reroll it to fish for an accuracy to spend braces.
