I have a side project on the go and was wondering, what are the X-Wing rules questions you see/hear asked the most.
They don't have to be the nebulas ones, literally what are the most common in your experience's?
Cheers
Kris

Medium base barrel rolls. Something about the fact the template overhangs slightly just doesn't seem right to people.
Edited by DR4CONubs. Measuring ranges, fitting ships into position (or not), vs nubs on devices.
Also, firing arcs: does the line itself count as in arc or out of arc?
Tractoring onto obstacles, so many discussions due to 1st ed being ambiguous about the templates crossing the obstacle.
At the beginner level confusion over what is and what the effects of bumping, overlapping, obstacle details
also obstructed being a Boolean value (along with strain and tractor)

Same, and Medium Talon-Rolls which I was regrettably doing wrong quite a bit.
Calculate tokens only changing one Focus result per token.

You do not measure using these, right? We don't see bombs much locally and I've forgotten since I had to check bomb range every round in the good ol' Bad Mira/Nym days.

You do, actually. Nubs on bombs and devices count. On ships they do not.
Before it gets asked: the difference between the two is that the nubs are easy to ignore on a ship base; you've got a nice, flat piece of plastic behind them to tell you where to actually measure from. That is not really the case with the single piece of cardboard/acrylic that the bombs are made.
How does 2.0 Hera work with Navigator?

After the current release of the rules update she can probably do what ever she wants, the rules just dont apply anymore
I should say that the Cova ruling makes 0 sense to me. Nien is useless now, well he is good for stress, he doesn't help a pilot ability at all. Apparently, according to Organised Play or whoever do these updates.
Replace Cova with Lando/Hera and replace R4 with Nien. Answer is right there.
Q: When an effect checks the difficulty of your revealed
maneuver (such as Cova Nell’s pilot ability), do any effects
that alter the difficulty of your maneuvers (such as R4
Astromech [] or Leia Organa [Resistance, ] apply?
A: No. The difficulty of a revealed maneuver matches its printed color. The
speed and bearing of a revealed maneuver also match their printed value
and type, respectively.

actually, nubs on ship count for bumping purpose, because they are part of the ship base, but not for firing range and distance, since those are calculated from the printed base.
What's the difference between reloading a charge and performing the Reload action?

Functionally, a Reload action just uses an action to reload a charge. But Stress won't block it if it's not an action.

Energy-Shell Charges has an "Action: Reload this card" rider that has caused considerable confusion in the past.

Ah. Only thing I can think of in that case is it ensures that the ship doesn't gain a Reload action to spend on separate upgrades.
Everything that isn’t a “May” is a “must”.

Wait, what? "From the printed base"? Where's that coming from?
We ran into an issue last night that we couldn't find an answer for:
My bomber came in a little hot and landed on an asteroid. It did all requirements but then next round we couldn't decide if, during system phase, the bomber could launch (pilot ability to launch instead of drop) a device, specifically a proximity mine. The way the ship and asteroid were positioned was that the bomber hit the "first half" and would overlap it again when it activated to move that round. The closest answer we found is you can drop/launch a device onto an obstacle and the act of launching/dropping a device is not an attack.

Nein and Hera still work. With nein crew, hera must still physically reveal a blue maneuver (not a white bank). Nein reduces difficulty of banks to make them blue, so hera can now change to a blue bank. If she revealed a white bank, nein reduces its difficulty to be blue, but she cannot change to any other blue maneuver, because she REVEALED a white maneuver.
thats my story and I'm stickin to it.
CLT vs Padme debate is the one I'm still wondering about.

From Armada. I think.
Meanwhile, this thread is proving its worth repeatedly!

Not RAW. RAW Nein crew, R4 astromech and L3-37 do nothing now since they never enter the ability queue to change the maneuver...
"2. Execute Maneuver: The ship executes the maneuver selected on the revealed dial."
Edited by HiemfireHow performing a red maneuver does not remove my evade given from stygium in the systems phase. How your stressed phantom does not get to evade after decloaking. How my stressed whisper gets to recloak at the end of shooting. How autothrusters work on all speeds and white actions. How pattern analyzer lets me link a white rotate. How it works off running over clouds. How fine tuned controls don't work when you clip that debris. How a repaired wounded pilot does not force me to roll a die after repairing it. Afterburners do not count against my action. Rexlar's ability always works when there are cards after this attack, he is not cheating HLC.

''An arc is an area formed between the lines created by extending hash marks or arc lines printed on a ship token to range 3. ''
Sorry, they never say ''printed base'' per se, but they do mention arc lines printed on a ship token.

Wait, what's the deal with medium-base barrel rolls and talon rolls that is unusual??

They're probably trying to use the entire base length + template edges and not the centerlines + template edges for the maneuver.
