UPDATE: We will NOT be getting CW on October 4th!

By R3dReVenge, in Star Wars: Legion

ok, thanks guys.

It is my understanding that there has also been stuff posted by FFG employees in a discord group.

Which is one of the complaints that many people have voiced in this forum, that the only information is available on myriad social media sites, and not this site. If the employee(s) are supposed to be posting this information, then why isn't it also being posted either here in the official forums, or as part of a news post. Those of us who are not on social media are therefore relying on other forum members for news, rather than FFG.

As I understand, Matt is supposed to engage on Facebook and other social mediums. It sure doesn't make the website or upcoming page run any smoother, though.

I can feel the lack of excitement on the forums now that it will likely be late October or November till we experience the Clone Wars

To be honest.. as much as I want the clone wars starter, if it doesn't come out soon, or comes out too close to Crisis Protocol, it will have to wait.

I don't get this. You either have the money for both or you don't. And you already own Legion (and presumably other games), it's not like you need to buy CW or Crisis Protocol on release day to end your gameless tedium.

This is what I've been fearing. More and more people are flocking away from the delayed release. Such a shame, but a result of poor management by FFG.

It's ok I doubled down with two core sets and just pre-ordered the new commanders and heavies for CIS and Republic as well

Still not enough to make up for the 12 people not entering the hobby at my store due to This release.

He probably has the money to buy both, but not in the same month. He was expecting to buy CW Legion now and Marvel CP by november. If both are released in November, he'll choose only one.

ok, but we've taken a ton of pre-orders, and after telling everyone about the delays only 2 people cancelled. And that's probably because they saw another store somewhere quoting an earlier (but out of date) release date, and placed an order with them instead thinking they're going to get them sooner...

In my case, I DO want both. But due to financial restrictions, I can only afford one. As my one friend will be buying clone wars, I will still get to play, but he doesn't want to get into marvel, so it works out till I can afford clone wars.

These people thinking that FFG is going to go out of business (or even be significantly financially effected) by one botched (i.e. slightly delayed) release are cracking me up.

One? Apparently you've never met FFG before. 🤣

Their release dates are notoriously bad. I remember back in the day when I was playing x-wing 1st edition, they always used to have a new wave of ships announced ready for xmas - and then they always seemed to arrive in Jan/Feb... But I guess when everything's coming on a slow boat from China, and you have multiple customs to deal with, getting an accurate delivery time can be tricky... and even worse if you want a global release.

Yes, the forums are quiet, too quiet...

Also it has been a while since the last legion article and people don't have a lot to talk about.

Yup. And it's not even a game. It's expansions for a pre-existing game. So people acting like it'll kill Legion are also overreacting. Warhammer actually ends all support for people's armies , and it's still going.

If the delay of one part of one game by a few weeks keeps them from taking up wargaming, they wouldn't have lasted long in it anyways.

Honestly, since I don’t get the chance to get in a bunch of games, my main source for “hype” is in the painting of cool minis.

The long CW hiatus has made it difficult to keep that running. Granted once it does hit my queue is going to skyrocket but right now, it’s hard to be excited when I don’t have my stuff to paint up.

I know the feeling. I've been making random terrain pieces or painting up 3D prints just to keep interested/engaged, and I play at least one actual game a week. For those that don't have a good community, I really feel sorry for you.

There is one community in my area, but they play on a night that is incompatible with what I can manage. I’ve got some friends that have legion and aren’t in the LGS community that I play Legion with, though we suffer from the difficult to make the event line up. Because of how long the games are it’s more of a quarterly or semi-annual social get together, and we make it bigger with multiple game tables or a 2v2 game. It’s easier for us to get one 4-6 hour day than more than one 3 hour day I suppose.

Some time I think @TauntaunScout is one of the best people on this forum almost every time he post I think that what on would have said and the fact that he played Britannia like myself make me like him even more.

I'm familiar with what you speak of, which makes what they are saying even more absurd.

It’s not about lasting it’s about sales bud. Loss of sales...
