Sigh... with all the material they could bring into the movies... they still push the same 4 ship... what a wasted oportunity for something new.

Well, the good news for me is that I plan to play Resistance as the new 2.0 Full Faction. I've never played Rebels at all, so it's like I still get to play a developing Rebel faction that's just. . .Resistier.

So many unassigned letters!
i just realized something. These names reference ship silhouettes roughly looking like Latin alphabet letters...and these are very different that Aurebesh, so these ship names don’t really mean anything to the characters!
Edited by Pewpewpew BOOMBe nice to have a medium base Ywing, especially since Resistance doesn't have any mediums yet.

Why would it be medium? The BTA-NR2 doesn’t look longer then the BTL-B and the BTL-A4.

It won't be medium, I can absolutely promise that. The Clone Wars one **** near could have been, but this isn't even THAT long or as high in mass.

Agreed. The BTA-NR2 is just a smidge longer than a BTL-A4, no way medium base could be justified for it.

I am extremely interested in its capabilities however, and furthermore the NR2 aspect proves beyond a shadow of a doubt that it did indeed serve during The New Republic era. But to what extent, I cannot be sure.
But the longer cabin and reworked gunner spot is extremely interesting. It definitely has the same capabilities... But to what extent, I simply know not..!

Saw the Rebel fighter book won't be available till Disney+ opening day so I had to settle for just the YT1300 book and the TIE fighter book.
Love the look and size of the T-85. It reminds me of the size creep we see in modern fighters. (Particularly apparent in Russian designs; current Sukhois and MIGs make B-17s look svelte by comparison!) I’m cautiously optimistic that they’ll make an onscreen appearance in IX. Fingers crossed.

Yep, the SU-30 is 2 feet shorter than a B-17.
2 feet. For a single-pilot fighter. Nuts. SU-34 is 3 feet longer than B-17.

Su-30 definitely has two engines.
It is interesting how due to the WW2 era style of the franchise 15m long is considered huge for a fighter when that's generally a light fighter from modern standards ala F5 and F16.
The mainstays like the F15 are absolutely enormous in comparison.

Yep. Totally meant single pilot. I blame the infant child.
Agreed, the difference as it relates to the Star Wars universe is fascinating.
Edited by dsul413I'm an idiot. I've since caffeinated, might not be enough.

Got to play it safe. Got to be familiar. Got to look and feel like Star Wars. Product cinema by market focus group at its finest.

I understand that. You gotta have X-Wings and TIEs, and lightsabers for that matter, but with the familiar, you could push something new... I seriously doubt B-wings, which have fairly minimum screentime in ROTJ, is a "recognisable element" for the general audience.
They can't even come up with a new villain overlord, it's Palpatine again...

I think we're mostly on the same side about the general creative bankruptcy of the sequel films and even to a slightly lesser degree Rogue One and Solo.

Almost exactly what Lucas said about the ST... ".. there's nothing new..." (disappointed George Lucas voice)

Uh, still wrong there.
There is no single pilot variant of the Su-30. The SU-30KI was proposed as an upgrade to the SU-27 but it never went into production.
So, it's an exclusively two man craft.

Iger seems very much in cover his backside mode in those quotes. While I heard about Lucas's ideas for The Whills and thought those questionable I have not seen much of the other stuff about fathers and sons I heard him say it was about. Any of the articles talking about Lucas's Whills ideas seemed very much an apologia for TFA and TLJ.

Yep. I'm not sure what I was on for that. Must have been thinking -27/-35, which both definitely are single seat for their base models. Gives me a reason to go refresh my Russian fighter jet knowledge.

I would have been fine with what ever Lucas would've released , because its his baby..

Uh, I'm a forgiving, understanding person... And even I wouldn't have been very cool with three films on one planet about midichlorians.
