T-85 THICC...

Holy moly that T-85 is big. Can you imagine a T-70 basically doubled in overall effectiveness? Like a silencer+

Source?

Source linked in first post of thread now.

Edit: The now secondary link to the source for the image is pointless. Thank you @RyantheFett for adding the link. :)

Well, much like the Silencer, the T-85 will be the superiority fighter of the faction.

Interestingly this follows rl size changes in superiority and multi-role fighters (T-65b vs T-85). The differences between the T-70 and T-85 remind me of the F-16 and F-15 and their differences. :) If the Falcon and Eagle had been made by the same company that is (iirc they weren't).

T-85 did look big but man this makes it really show. I am ready for my big boy X-wing FFG, bring it into the game in the next wave or two. Though now it competes with the Y and B.

Speaking of the Y, it looks like its engines are longer than the Rebellion one but looks even more gutted up.

It appears RZ-1 A-wing got shrunk back to 7-something meters.

(until the next contradictory sourcebook comes out that is)

The T-85 is much larger than I expected; I going to guess that it is intended for long-range strike or patrol missions. If the Resistance S2 trailer is to be believed, it can also be modified to carry additional missile tubes on the wings (though that could have been a field modification made in desperation).

The 'new' Y-Wing pleases me however. It would have made little sense for the Resistance to dust off BTL-Bs & BTL-A4s to go up against the First Order's fleet (given that the TIE/ln was intended to be superior to such craft, the TIE/fo would have had a field day against them). Based on the design of the 'turret', I wouldn't be shocked if the NR2 has a 'fixed' rear arc for turrets, potentially with a ship ability which gives it Veteran Tail Gunner capability (at the cost of not having a gunner slot, perhaps?).

Ha! ha! I was right! The T-85 is huge! 15m long!

It did look quite big and bulky even in resistance. I'd be interested to see if it's actually going to be medium base; making it something not a million miles from the Aggressor.

I’d say that’s doubtful, based on the silhouette; while it’s undeniably chunky, it’s still not as long as the Y-Wing!

Seems like the Y-wing has a front and rear arc primary rather than the turret. Could become the Resistance ARC.

T-85 could a medium base X-wing? Seem like a brute. Want this in my list!

I've got to say, while I'm fine with the re-makes of the old fighters (A, X, Y), I'm going to be a little disappointed if the entire new trilogy doesn't give us a single new-model fighter. Yes, we got the Starfortress (still waiting for that re-release, FFG!), but I would have liked to see a new fighter-sized ship using a letter not previously designated. All indications are that we're not going to get one.

Like a D-Wing, for example ?

So the BTA-NR2 is roughly as long as the BTL-B, right? But it's got less armor. The turret looks like it's stuck backwards but that could be misleading in this due to resolution being too low (it could just be really flat).

Nice to see how big the 85 is. Lovely thing.

Also cracks me up how these are all listed as Rebels. I know it's the lineage but still.

I like to think that the grand plan of Disney was to set up the Resistance/First Order to take up the role of what happened to the Rebels/Empire after 6 in Legends. Then with comics/books/video games fill the world with more ships, pilots, troopers, and cruisers. They just wanted to replace all the actors with younger ones.

A fractured First Order controlled by several warlords, dark side defeated, Resistance with a sizable fleet, light side creating a new Jedi Order, and several threats from the outer regions that may threaten everyone (like Thawn). Really the only thing they screwed up on is that their replacement for Mon Mothma since poor Carrie Fisher died and they killed Holdo in 8.

Of course there are the rumors that they had no real set plan with the moves................ but I like to think they have some idea what they are doing............

Does no one else notice how tiny the U-Wing is in that image? Like, it's dwarfed by the B-Wing... This can't be right.

Though on the other hand, it does confirm that the A-Wing is supposed to be tiny.

I TOLD you guys the T-85 was large! I TOOOOOOOLD you!

When y'all gonna' stop doubtin' me? ****!

Nah, still small. The TIE Silencer was small! The T-85 isn't an awkward bird to fly either, she handles like a normal starfighter. Just big.

The Y-wing continuing the trend of being the exact same ship, except smaller
