Do we know if the heavy weapons in the specialist 2 pack will be compatible with special forces? It might be a good way to give the pathfinders another wound and a powerful gun at the same time.
Specialist 2 and special forces

Looks like the upgrade cards say "Rebel Troopers Only" so probably only work for the original Rebel Troopers unit.

Yeah, these are upgrades for the basic corps trooper units that come in the core sets. So Stormtroopers, Rebel Troopers , etc.
E.g.
I imagine *weapon* upgrades for anything other than corps Troopers face a law of diminishing returns - everyone has Stormtroopers, etc.
So they are probably a long way off. But #neversaynever
Edited by JedirevI don't expect new upgrades for special forces, but who knows?
Maybe we might see special forces upgrade packs that can add a character as a heavy weapons upgrade to each special forces unit, e.g. Royal Guard Champion, Gaarkhan for Wookiee Warriors
One challenge with making weapons cards that work for multiple units is the points cost of the miniature is included in the cost. For instance, the Z-6 weapon itself only costs 12 points which is why the Z-6 Phase 1 trooper costs 25 (13 points for the additional Phase 1, 12 points for the Z-6), and the Z-6 Rebel Trooper costs 22 (10 points for the additional Rebel Trooper, 12 points for the Z-6).

This makes the Comms Technician a more attractive option for a unit like Shoretroopers. All the advantages of another 13-point trooper, and a comms upgrade at x-3 points.

I love my hard working 7 pt HQ uplink
It wouldn't really work given that the mini added is a copy of the base unit minis plus what is on the card. Either they would be okay on the Corps units and horrifically OP and underpriced on the SF units, or so expensive as to be worthless on the Corps units. Even within the SF units' there is a significant difference in how muhc each model is worth - Pathfinders are 17 points each and Wookiees are 25; the difference is close to the cost of an entire Rebel Trooper. Regardless, it's evident that all the Trooper upgrades in these packs are going to be for the specific units the packs are for (I'm pretty sure that was heavily implied or even explicitly stated in the articles).
