How do they stay balanced if they do not have points to "Adjust".... Or will FFG print adjusted quick build cards??
Quick builds
They’re not balanced nearly as well.
There's been no indication they'll change them - not least because they avoid changing printed stuff if possible and because there aren't really many 'formal' quick build events.
They've introduced 'new' quick builds for the same ship, but they've not yet changed an existing one.

Not quite true, they adjusted a bunch of the conversion kit threat levels in the first points change.
The builds themselves haven't changed though.
And I wouldn't expect them to, either, which means that later QBs won't be able to make use of newer upgrades.
QB is basically a dead format though, so

As written, no. I could see some potential scenario- or event-specific quick builds popping up, but ultimately the rule for quick builds seems to be that they never assume you have any upgrades other than the ones which come with the ship expansion and the core set (and/or faction starter set for clone wars).
The conversion kit ones are more flexible for this reason as anything within that kit is in scope.

I would like to see them do some more with it. The 'enhanced quick build' cards are a lot more appealing, and in theory you could produce those for an event. But I agree that I've rarely seen quick build events above a local level.
Quick builds can be a lot of fun and I've run quick build draft events that were a blast. They are not terrifically balanced, but they can make for some really fun and crazy list designs and work great when player's are given a small random selection of quick builds to choose from.

We used it for a draft tournament and it was tons of fun. Some of my favorite X-Wing games ever.

Well that's sort of baked into the precision, no?
I mean, building to a list of 8 'threat' vs 200 pts...each 'threat' level accounts for 25 pts roughly before it bumps up to the next one. That's a lot of variance!
I actually play a lot escalation with friends and we want to create a tournament event because it's a fun format and more tactics than expected.
I’ve used them a couple times for playing with friends who are less familiar with the game, and it works really well. Especially since we used @J1mBob ‘s quickbuild print outs that have all of the upgrades written out on them. (Infinitearenas.com I believe)

I've been trying to talk some of my local players into using the escalation format for a furball event.

Rejoice, the multiplayer kit come with this format too !
Quick build is an excellent quick and casual format. I have all of
@J1mBob
's quick build cards from Infinite Arenas printed out and in my boxes. I love that I can quickly build lists and not have to deal with cards. This is the perfect thing to do with folks who know how to play but rely on me to provide everything. We can easily pick a game length when we decide on how many quick build points to build to and everyone can play with ships they like. I also like that they use combos and upgrades we normally wouldn't select in a more competitive atmosphere. I also really like that I can bring my pre-printed quick build cards with me instead of dragging around binders full of cards (which are heavy and take up tons of room). I taught X-Wing to an entire family (there were 7 of us playing!) using quick build and it was very intuitive (thanks to Infinite Arena's cards).
The format is really not intended for the regular player who mins/maxes their lists. It falls apart and is less fun when people turn it into a meta competition - because, yes, some builds are much better than others. But for the kitchen table casuals or for introducing the game to people, it is a great way to go. I really think that quick build will shiine with epic play. The worst part of epic is setup, imo. Having pre-printed quick build cards will make setup and list build SO much easier.
Quick build is best build.
I have a 6 year old that wants to play around once per month. Quick builds make it much easier for him. He picks which ships he wants and then picks from between two pre-made pilots.
With all due respect, it's easy to say quickbuild is a dead format; but remember that most players who buy the game will never go to a tournament or post anything on these message boards.

This is the truth.
Keeping Quick Build around costs almost nothing and doesn't hurt competitive players at all. But there is a big upside to new and casual players.
Way to get the 6 year old involved... my 5 year old is almost ready, I can feel it!

Haven't posted in this forum a lot LATELY (mostly Armada these days), but...Quick Build is absolutely going to be 90% of my X-Wing play.
For "casual players" (which I hope FFG realizes is the vast majority of their market, by probably 10 to 1 - I mean, look at all the Target sales of merely core sets )...the 'quick build' format provides everything you need to level up the game from 'naked ships rolling dice at each other' to the more complex mechanics...without having to really invest any thought into planning it. While at the SAME time...sort of teasing that idea of what's possible..."could I just swap out this for that?"...that can create a life-long die-hard X-Wing fan out of thin air.
But either way - fanatic converted or not - the 'quick build' format makes it a game that is playable out of the box(es) .

This is one of the reason I like Quickbuild. Back to the announcement of the second edition me and my friend "beta test" thank to the quickbuild card leaked.
Don't want to wait the release points ? Just use the card and play.
Another good reason is you don't really need many ship to play a standard quickbuild game if you desire.
