So v1s are HS legal now.

I’m going back to FCS. Passive Sensors is very situational, FCS is useful in every game.

See, this interests me, because I feel the same.

Then Passive Vader goes and wins the thing.

Really liking the idea of 3 Inqs and Vader. I'd have to paint a 3rd to be able to fly it with my other 2, so I'm currently resisting :D

I have this waiting on the sidelines atm, but I'm not convinced I'm actually any good with Sabacc.

Reflex

(49) Major Vermeil [TIE Reaper]
(1) Crack Shot
Points: 50

(44) "Pure Sabacc" [TIE/sk Striker]
(3) Targeting Computer
(7) Snap Shot
Points: 54

(35) Inquisitor [TIE Advanced v1]
(8) Supernatural Reflexes
(5) Cluster Missiles
Points: 48

(35) Inquisitor [TIE Advanced v1]
(8) Supernatural Reflexes
(5) Cluster Missiles
Points: 48

Total points: 200

Sabacc is too soft as a sacrifice for any list at that price, so the idea is that Vermeil and the Inqs are placed more expendably. Sabacc flanks or lurks super hard.

None of the other Reaper pilots will draw the aggro or punish things quick enough if they did. The Inqs need to get in the mix to support, rather than Sabacc, so Concs would be asking for the wrong approach.

There is 4pt to play with. 2x FCS.... I'm not fussed about it with Clusters, but I kind of require it with Concs, so both do not fit.

Shield for Vermeil. Hull.

TC vs bid.....

Vader (Afterburners, FCS, Sense) + Grand Daddy (Brilliant Evasion, FCS) + "Duchess" (Targeting Computer, Fifth Brother, Outmaneuver) for a 197 total. Can drop Evasion for 194.

Overall each ship can pull it's weight. "Duchess" with force and Evade is surprisingly tanky. Vader can stay on target and Inquisitor can do a lot of shoot shoot while having better force economy on defense. Can go for Lock early and not be blown to bits on the first turn.

As soon as I get my own V1, I will test this thing some more.

This?

  1. Grand Inquisitor - FCS
  2. Rexler Brath - FCS, Outmaneuver
  3. Maarek Stele - FCS, Marksmanship, Afterburners

198 points total. Can drop Outmaneuver on Rexler for a 192 bid. Each ship at I5 and you can just throw crits at the enemy. First can handpick them from a batch of 3. Then if they repair them, can expose them with Defender. If you keep first engagement in Range 3, you have three ships with 3 Attack Dice (V1 from Force, X1 from Lock) and 3 Agility Dice. Defender gets free Evades if you are fast.

This I also like. I think it might be harder to get ticking though. Rex can often float about doing not much and Maarek has a tendency to assplode before shields are down, if you're not very careful.

The main difference between the 2 is just how massive a badass Vader is.

Agreed, but if you're evading you're not using your targeting computer. For the same investment of points I'd highly recommend Predator/Afterburners; with both the boost and the ailerons being optional, it's amazing how squirrelly Duchess can be, able to vary a fast straight or bank by up to 90' in bearing and up to 4 base lengths in speed.

I am curious, what the stats on the Fitfh Brother will be. Initiative 4 or 5? 2 or 3 Force? I am quite curious about the Pilot skill as well. So far the Inquisitors' abilities are very combat offense oriented. I am curious what they will think of. Similar to his Gunner Ability? Turning Hits into Crits or Focus into Crit?

I am so pumped for this.

I have cautiously set my expectations to same ability, I4, 2 force. Which will set him nicely aside 7th Sis as a pair.

Unoptimistically, they'll give him 1 force. Would not be terrible, will allow room for a nice, fat 3rd piece. I4 alone will be good.

I am kind of hoping for an I5 as an alternative for Grand Inquisitor in an Aces list. Although I do expect him to be I4. I don't think he will have any "teamwork" abilities, as it doesn't really sit well with the style of dark side users. With all the force powers flying around, maybe something to happen when he is stressed?

Either way I do agree, Evade is a bit counterintuitive when you slot a Targeting Computer. My go to build for now on "Duchess" would be Fifth Brother, Outmaneuver and Targeting Computer. But I lack the last two, so I am flying with Shield and Skilled Bomber with Conner Net. Makes people reluctant to get behind her.

I am trying to find a good fit for Grand Inquisitor and Vader alongside her. Just have three ships with some Force.

I'm hoping Init 4 for Fifth Brother, and a pilot ability which doesn't require all his force. Sev doesn't make a great candidate for a Supernatural Reflexes carrier, since her pilot ability requires 2 force. It'd be super fun to have a 2-force SNR Inquisitor who doesn't shut off their pilot ability to use it.

I'd be very happy to bring FCS, Conc Bro and Sis alongside some of my various double Inq squadmates. You could make some lovely 4xI4s with them.

V1 swarm?

  1. Inquisitor - Proton Rockets
  2. Inquisitor - Proton Rockets
  3. Inquisitor - Proton Rockets
  4. Planetary Sentinel - Targeting Computer
  5. Planetary Sentinel - Targeting Computer

Inquisitors can be quite potent with the Prockets, as they can Boost or Roll into Red Focus. You can go into Range 3 for Locks then into Range 1-2 for Lock + Focus on the Prockets. Strikers are just an annoying flank threat with Target Lock, that pew pews three dice all the time and can do crazy outmaneuvers with the Adaptive Ailerons.
