Not sure I agree on the tone, but I do think the Lambda is pretty iconic and it's strange that it's been skipped over so far.

@Force Majeure what if you make two of those torps Ion Torps? that way the Ion ones can help set up the APT ones for the kill.

We were talking at the FLGS last night about this. The Jumpmaster, in its 2.0 incarnation, seems almost hopelessly unplayable. It has too much hull to get a price drop below 40 points, but the dial, action bar, and the 2-attack, single-arc turret give it no other place in the game. There's nothing it a can do that the YT-1300 can't do better.

Can anything be done to redeem this ship short of releasing a Jumpmaster-only configuration or releasing an Aces pack with an entirely new stat-line and action bar?

They could give it a sensor slot, but a decent number of people would throw an immediate fit that something even resembling deadeye scouts was brought back.

Jumpmaster-only upgrades are needed. Maybe a second stab at a title.

4 Contracted Scouts with whatever combination of upgrades is fairly formidable.

Maybe its a 2 die primary, but they will not die easily. Clog lanes. Block ships. You got this.

I think they are pushing the lambda down the line because it will make empire extended and hyperspace start to look identical

Blockers with deadman switch is slightly amusing.

Their wave 5 release are obviously the reason Contraband Cybernetics is available in HS. But that's not enough. What REALLY broke it wasn't even the dial or the slots---it was the lack of a primary forward arc weapon. The careful depowering of Inertial Dampeners and Feedback Array in 2.0 also robbed it of dirty tricks.

Add 1 modification slot. All modifications cost -1 points less.

Add 1 sensor slot. There's nothing scouts can do that Blue Squadron B-Wings don't do as well, if not better.

Remove the torp slot, EZ.

The perfect info lock-rotate actually seems fair on Jumps since their blues are predictable and they only have two dice.

Oh, they’re still out it when I have no plans of buying the ships for that list :)

I rarely do the “max of a single chassis” lists. Just isn’t as interesting to me.

Has anyone got their hands on the new one yet? Just wondering if the paint is different or the turret moves or something. Anything to make a few of them sell...

The new one doesn't seem to have any of those odd vanes by the tips of the crescent, but I haven't seen if that's really the case in real life.

Plenty of easy fixes:

#1: Errata - Title adds 3 front, all get white rotate, and/or it’s now a bow tie arc. Boom, fixed.

#2: Upgrades - Feedback Array isn’t that bad on so much cheap health that takes 3 Ion tokens at 2 points. Cheapen it and make more upgrades like it. A config to allow you to take strain or deplete instead of stress would be quite potent.

#3. Slots. Bumpmaster anyone? Intimidation, Feedback Array, DMS, Tactical Scrambler on a scout for 53ish points of obnoxious area denial or huge green dice advantage plus autodamage. Just needs another illicit and a talented generic. Or AS or R3/FCS for Dengar? PS for scouts? Collision Detector? Also just one new slot.

The tools are there. I assume that the Jump and ID will be the first subjects of actual errata in 2.0. I’m guessing that could happen before the year is out.

Even without it though, there are ways to make it quite playable.
