Completely forgot this game was coming out. Got it this week. Going to be playing the first game with my son this weekend. Been watching a couple of videos and haven’t seen navpoint cards used. When are they to be used? Thought it was when you land on a navpoint instead of a planet.

They are UNLESS you opt to use some other type of encounter (like a patrol)

Navpoint cards are not useless. As suspected by @urwathrtz365 they are used when you land on a navpoint instead of a planet, which does happen at times. These cards will provide interesting encounters that can result in free cargo, a change in reputation, player interaction, secrets and more.
