Naboo / Sprite / BTL-B?

By CoffeeMinion, in X-Wing Squad Lists

I know this is an odd request, but I’m looking for list ideas that would let me fly my three Republic ships that have yet to see table time. I’ve been looking for anything in this vein but I’m not finding it, nor have I had much luck brainstorming something myself.

(Yes, I’m pretty behind on flying my Republic stuff; I just don’t get to play much. And I figured I’d need a strong list to make the Aethersprite work, since I’m usually not the best fragile-Ace player.)

(Similarly, I’m not keen on buying more than one of these babies until and unless the one copy I have of them proves itself.)

Here’s my first stab at an idea, but I only put this out there to get things started—I suspect this is probably hot garbage. I’ve struggled to think of Sprite and Naboo builds that make sense to me. I usually favor more overtly beefy or janky ships, and I don’t “get” these.

I wouldn't say it's hot garbage, but there's some adjustments I would be keen to make. I think Ric is best kept simplified. And I think you can make some alternative pilot choices on the Sprite and Y-Wing.

Foresight is card that belongs on Mace IMO. He's got the Force to spare and a way to regen it faster than most.

I've trimmed Ric down a bit to provide an upgrade to Matchstick. Matchstick is just really curious. It may not fit your style, so the generic is a good choice to stick with. But the idea here is to have the Torrent and maybe Ric or Mace to Target Lock Matchstick in the first round so they are always getting those rerolls. Debris Gambit gives you access to a third red token if needed, or if you need to pull Ric's lock off of Matchstick. If you want to go with Ion control, you can downgrade the bomb.

The idea that immediately jumps to mind is using Matchstick with ExHan, VTG, and a turret of choice with Plo, Obi, or Ani with CLT - right off the hop they can lock him, because they don't really need the lock, and give him at least one reroll on both his shots, forever. That leaves room for Ric, if you wanna go more offensive, or Padme, if you wanna go more defensive - depending on which Jedi and N-1 you pick, you'd have room for another little thing alongside

@LeMightyASP just dropped a list idea that I might also consider:

Alpha Strike

(42) Ric Olié [Naboo Royal N-1 Starfighter]
(5) R2-C4
(3) Passive Sensors
(3) Daredevil
(13) Proton Torpedoes
Points: 66

(47) Obi-Wan Kenobi [Delta-7 Aethersprite]
(6) R2-A6
(19) Delta-7B
Points: 72

(44) "Odd Ball" [BTL-B Y-wing]
(2) R4 Astromech
(6) Afterburners
(6) Adv. Proton Torpedoes
Points: 58

Total points: 196

This is an Alpha Strike list, the point is to have Oddball and Ric trade aggressively with the help ofthe torps and then let Obi Wan clean up what's left

Thanks for the mention! I'd been eyeing your thread for some time but didn't have a liat that i was confident in, but since then i started brainstorming for my Y-wing thread and ended up making that list, but it never clicked to me that it had the ships you were looking for.

Talking about the list, Oddball, even with his improved ability, is still very inconsistent. You might want to trade APT for the standard ProTorps on Oddball just to have a little more consistency. If you do, then you'd probably want to drop afterburners and passive sensors for a better bid. Still, i think that version is the most fun. :)

Is there anything you want to avoid, like regen? If not here is an idea.

New Squadron

(36) "Broadside" [BTL-B Y-wing]
(2) R4 Astromech
(12) Ahsoka Tano
(5) Ion Cannon Turret
Points: 55

(47) Obi-Wan Kenobi [Delta-7 Aethersprite]
(6) R2 Astromech
(19) Delta-7B
Points: 72

(42) Ric Olié [Naboo Royal N-1 Starfighter]
(4) R2 Astromech
(2) Predator
