So

latest?cb=20190828175858

  1. Vader reveals dial
  2. Vader Spends Force, Boosts with Precognitive Reflexes, gains Strain
  3. Vader Spends Force, Barrel Rolls using Ability
  4. Vader Spends Force, Focuses using Ability
  5. Does Blue Maneuver on Dial, clears Strain

So.... double reposition Vader?

Look at the last sentence on the Precog card.

So what you're saying, is that when it says "cannot perform another action", it means "cannot perform another action".

Tricky that.

Last sentence:

"If you do, you cannot perform another action during your activation."

"Golden Rules

If a rule in this guide contradicts the Rulebook, the rule in this guide takes precedence.

If the ability of a card conflicts with the rules in this guide, the card ability takes precedence.

If a card ability uses the word "cannot," that effect is absolute and cannot be overridden by other effects.

During an attack or while otherwise resolving an effect involving dice, each die cannot be rerolled more than once."

So stop at "Vader Spends Force, Boosts with Precognitive Reflexes, gains Strain".

Vader cannot perform another action during his activation. However, Vader can still be coordinated and could then trigger his ability off of the coordinated action.

No, but here's why you would put precog on Vader.

Turn 1, take lock + focus. Shoot and do 3 hits, because vader.

Turn 2, precog broll, do a 1 bank, and shoot the same locked target. You still get fcs, you still get focus with forces, and you didn't have to go forward and get blocked by the ship you were shooting at.

Turn 3, you need to disengage. You put in a blue 3 straight and boost away and clear your strain, confident in your 30-40 points lead :P . You can now spend the rest of the game running behind gas cloud before time ends.

Somewhat harder to do in practice, but the theory is sound!

This gets at one reason PCR Vader might be an effective ship, while Advanced Sensors Vader isn't an effective ship: Fire Control System. The fact that a PCR Vader can keep his lock from last round with FCS means there's a lot smaller of a penalty from losing additional actions than on an AdvS Vader, who would need to spend his lock for rerolls, and thus need to take a new lock.

As to strategy, I'm more of a fan of the Precog to ensure your K-Turn or Tallon Roll lands somewhere your opponent won't have shots on you, and next turn clear both stress and strain, but I'm aggressive like that, and the local meta isn't really into run-with-points strategies.
