Purchasing for the game in spanish within the US?

By LUZ_TAK, in X-Wing

Does anyone know of a FLGS, gaming shop, online retailer or whatever that sells FFG products in spanish language, located in the US, and that can deliver in an address in the US?

I asked FFG, Asmodee America and Asmodee Europe, but either they referred to each other or failed to give an answer.

Thanks.

I would try contacting one of the larger online stores like Miniatures Market or CoolStuffInc and see if they can manage something for you.

I used to get MTG in French fairly easily state-side; I hope you can do the same for XWM.

Will do that! Txs a lot!

Update: out of luck with those 2 retailers.

Any other option?

Mexican Amazon? I don't know if they'd ship to the United States, but "Amazon dot Com dot MX" seems to have Spanish language X-Wing.

Just to let you know that, no, Amazon MX won't ship to US.

I guess amazon Spain would... but that is probably too expensive, I might as well ship it from spain to home.

Even while sometimes you can find on amazon.mx there never been available the spanish edition, the only advantage are a few good prices , because neither the whole range (even in english) at the correct prices (sometimes the prices are up to 3 times the US retailers), its still an option. Id been waiting for the resistance conversion kit to be available... Too bad there isnt available, nor the full range or in spanish because, with the so few FGS, that could be an option for the community to grow... And, edge entertainment, at least i think so, they were the guys in charge of the translations of x wing 1.0, but isnt easy to find what they edited, and as had happended before, translation arent so good (I still have an 40 aniversary of integrated astro with typos,in spanish, made by this guys... same thing happens with other companies whe they got bad translations... you could end playing a diferent game and not knowing until you show at an event).

Edge entertainment does not have the right over x-wing, now is managed by Asmodee.
I would try from some of the spanish stores (tablerum, zacatrus...) maybe they can ship to the US.

Have you tried contacting FFG and/or Asmodee customer service already? They might be able to help point you somewhere? (I honestly don't know how helpful they'll be but surely they are aware of partners and retailers.)

I did... they either passed the question to each other of simply did not respond.

Try getting English expansions in Italy, it is easier for me to just learn the language... apparently it is a decision by asomodee

Actually I would prefer to play the game in english, as it's second language for me and there is nothing "lost in translation", but that mean greatly diminishing the pool of potential friends to play with.

I was in a game store in Barcelona earlier this year and they had x-wing in both English and Spanish. I was surprised but I guess they sell to a lot of tourists/ex pats.

They also had a section for english language games.

As for Spanish editions in the US, maybe contact stores in states where Spanish is the second language like Florida or California.

I tried 3 or 4 big stores in Florida. No luck.

I could purchase in spain, but shipping is expensive.

I'm in Texas where 27% of people are Spanish-speaking. I don't believe I've ever seen Spanish-language games in stores, unless they were multi-language versions of board games. I am in DFW, Dallas has 38% Spanish-speakers. I believe those percentages would be higher closer to the border. Maybe game stores in places like El Paso or Laredo might stock them but seems more likely that people in those areas maybe just get those versions across the border.
