This past weekend at the Fantasy Flight Games Event Center, fans of Games Workshop’s grim and perilous Old World setting gathered to play Games Workshop's Warhammer Fantasy Battles, Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay and Chaos in the Old World. The Malleus Maleficarum Event was a resounding success, and we’d like to thank all who participated.
On Friday and Saturday night, the Chaos in the Old World tournament brought new and veteran Chaos Gods together to struggle for domination. Played over two rounds, the tournament offered a chance to take home an exciting prize: A Games Workshop Greater Daemon miniature of the winner’s choice. Both games were close, but winner Scott W. hacked his way to victory as Khorne in the first round, and in the second, spread disease and suffering throughout the land as Nurgle. Congratulations, Scott!

Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay fans were able to take part in a short adventure, GMed by WFRP’s development team. Lead Designer Jay Little and Content Developer Dan Clark led introductory adventures, and also presented an early peek at the upcoming adventure The Edge of Night!

“Best General” winner John S.
(demonstrating that he could have
even won with his eyes closed)
and “Best Overall” winner Alex D.
But the weekend’s main draw was the outstanding miniatures gaming. Minis players from the local area and beyond converged to enjoy the FFGEC’s brand new terrain tables (we recently put up eight gorgeous new tables) and clean, well-lit playing space as they battled for total dominance. The painting contest let players show off their skilled handiwork, and our painting stations were set up all weekend, where everyone was invited to sit down for a quick tutorial on miniatures painting. Congratulations to all the weekend’s winners, and we hope to see you next time.
