Huge Ship Kit

Any word on how many Hull/Shield tracking dials there will be.

2.

"But commanding huge ships goes far beyond the faction you play. Huge ships alter your entire strategy and a selection of 82 upgrade cards invite you to customize your huge ships, outfitting them with Commands, Teams, Cargo, and potent Hardpoints that grant additional attacks. Finally, while each huge ship has its own unique capabilities and unique roles within your squadron, like small ships, they all use the same set of tools for basic functions such as movement. This kit also contains a plastic huge ship maneuver tool, a huge ship range ruler, two huge ship resource trackers, and a huge ship damage deck that can be used with any huge ship!"

Sweet!

But.... one damage deck?

I hope the new bases are sold separately.

One damage deck is what you need. If they put more than one deck in the box, it should be named Huge Ship Conversion Kit for Friends Who Like to Sharing (Conversion Kits) .

only two trackers and one damage deck is kind of putting me off the whole concept. I was going to share a friend's kit, but if we can't play against each other with one kit, I'm not getting a whole kit for my one (1) epic ship.

What are the release dates of the conversion kit and huge battles kit? It was mentioned in the stream, but how many times can one watch it? 😀

I play every X-Wing game ever with one damage deck. Use tokens for regular damage and only draw cards for criticals.

Ok.

I prefer to play by the rules personally but you do you.

You bet.

In that case, I'd recommend a can of compressed air and a fine soft brush to keep your Epic ship looking swell.

I'm more thinking EBay tbh

Good thing I was picking up two kits anyway...

Sell the spare bits? I know people who will want some extra bits rather than buy a 2nd (or 3rd...) kit. And doing what Darth Meanie said is fine for casual games. It's how HotAC works for the AI ships too.

Yes, I need 2... plus a bit more. 10 huge ships lurk in my fleet, eagerly awaiting their moments to shine!

The big restriction to me is the number of bases - only 2 in the kit. Last epic/huge game I played in had 11 huge ships on the table! I hope the new base can be faked using the new cardboard base tokens plus the old bases. (Yes, I know the corvettes won't be able to do this, but the smaller ships might.)

Seling extra bits is a: effort and b: going to be a very crowded market. I only know of one person in our group who has more than three epic ships at all, let alone all of them. Extra dials and damage decks are going to be in insane demand, and the pilot cards etc are going to be super oversaturated.

Nah.

Not for it.

Epic is already pretty casual. Nothing wrong with sharing a damage deck between opponents. After all, that's what you do in the Core Set. This idea that each player needs his/her own deck really stems from tournament play, and I appreciate that FFG is willing to step up and say, "Hey, this game is for everybody, not just tournament players." Even "I'll Show You the Dark Side" doesn't reference "your opponent's damage deck."

"When this card is assigned, if there is no faceup damage card on it, the player who assigned it searches the damage deck for 1 Pilot damage card and places it faceup on this card. Then shuffle the damage deck."

Now, if you were hoping to split it so you could each have a deck to play with other people, I would recommend just buying a conversion kit each, but I have 4 of the 5 huge ships so buying my own kit makes sense.

Lol, so why have two trackers if there isn't two decks?

Thank you Parakitor for the insightful answer.

Some absolute madman could build a list with two huge ships in it and nothing else.

I mean back in 1.0 I won an Epic tournament with Tantive IV and Bright Hope. I was the only one to bring Epic ships as well.

(I had the then usual backup of Roark and Esque too.)
