Any news on 2019-2020 Regionals (IE., "prime" championship) event scheduling?

And all miles away, great, where is The Gathering?

It's probably this place, in Limerick. They do a few Armada events, and have done Regionals in the past.

They list only store names, not .... where the store is? That's ... dumb.

There's a Google Map, but that's not great. Also no indication of when the events will be, other than October to February. Anyway:

From what I can tell, none has any event details for the tournaments on their websites or Facebook pages.

We all know these ones anyway

Sparse

I feel like they are assuming 100% attendence at worlds from invitees and no one winning multiple invites...

For Germany (and Austria) these are the Primes:

The placement is rather, ... What is the right word for it? Stuipd? Thin? Clearly? 😄
And there are as well no dates for these so far.

Siegen is in planning phase already. ;) Will be late February most likely.

With X-Wing someone new always gets the invite; so if the winner already has one it goes to the runner-up. Not sure if they're doing that with Armada, though; have we had any overlap yet?

Also... the timing for Primes says October to February, which doesn't look good for Store Championships this year.

Stores aren't allowed to disclose details such as dates yet.

Just confirming that Gilarius is correct. Stores have been asked to keep their approved date confidential until officially announced by FFG.

Well, Common Ground in Ireland and Beanie in Stockton have both had their dates added to FFG's announcement page.

Common Ground is in Scotland ;) But yeah, Beanie and CGG both have dates on the announcement page now so that's good to start planning around!

Remember, like me, you have to finish second to avoid picking up extra invites, unless they confirm they pass down.

I dare say it is in the rules pack - it was for regionals, and thesecareva rename, not a complete redo.

The Prime in Stockton (Beanie Games) is on Sunday? Really??

Most of their bigger x-wing events are held on Sundays too - free parking, vs a full public car park on Saturdays might be the reason.

Well, that‘s the point - It‘s like „Car drivers only“.

Too bad, i‘ll have the first week in Feb off anyway. Could have been a nice trip to Northern England.

Ah, I seem to have been misunderstanding your initial post.

Rather than expressing disbelief, you were expressing disappointment?

My apologies.

Which, knowing FFG will be what... eight days before the first event is scheduled to happen...? Not sure why venues can't start advertising yet, especially to facilitate people who are willing (or need to) travel to said events and would like to start planning.

Didn't they post the official dates AFTER one or two stores had already held their event last year?

I just don't understand what they think they are getting by holding off announcing the dates until the very last (or beyond the last) moment.

This seems to be an AsmodeeUK Request, at the very least... I'd be surprised if it were FFG overall..

AsmodeeCanada has not been so circumspect (or, at the very least, Vancouver and Calgary dates are known and advertised)

Yes, that's my recollection as well (that last year some announcements went up after some events had already happened--but I don't remember what events/games specifically). I do remember after the Twitter-debacle how FFGOP promised substantially better organization and communication this year, but that's not as of yet seemed to come to fruition? Granted, I don't follow the competitive scene of any of my FFG Games as much as I used to, but it's not felt substantially improved in any of the them.

But could it also just be the Vancouver and Calgary host venues saying "screw this!" and posting the details anyways, in spite of an official request not to do so? Or is it hosted somewhere on some AsmodeeCanada news article or something?
