This is a request for information regarding all of the Rogue Trader stuff that is contained in the Darkreign40k.com site. Well i've been trying to download it all for weeks, and each time i try the Download file here button, it just leads back to the same page i was at, i've also tried clicking on the pdf symbol on the very right hand side of the page, all that does is load a box that says You are not authorized to view this content, you must log in???.

URRR??? what login??? where is the login for the main site??. I even registered on your forum, which has no link from the main site anyway!, i thought that was what it meant by you must login.

Help me, all i want is to plan for an upcoming rt game i want to run (my first time by the way).

So could someone tell me what i'm doing wrong, and i'm having to ask this on this forum because both the darkreign site and the forum is offline for maintenance (today is 12 may).

I also found out about the malware virus thingy that is now on the site, it appeared on my computer when i clicked on the ship of chaos file (i think? lol ironic isn't it?). The malware virus thingy looks like your computer has loaded the my computer file and is doing its own virus scan, andwhen it stops it says you have over 12 dangerous viruses on your system, and to click ok to be rid of them, a mate of mine (who is microsoft certified) has said if that comes up just press alt+f4.

So please can i have the homebrew stuff for RT that is/was on Dark reign, can't the author put it on megaupload or mediafire or something??

The site is being updated due to the server Dark Reign was on being infected by a virus and the server hosts doing nothing to help out. Hopefully it'll be back up and running in the next day or so.

Since we're all sort of busy with that, you'll have to wait until we've sorted things out before you get the files you want.

We're hoping that the site will be back up and running shortly. Mordheim, the site owner, is in the process of updating the site software after the recent hack/virus thing. In the long run we're also looking at other software avenues for improving site functionality.

Sorry that the problems hit just when you needed them. When the site is back up, by and let us know how we can improve the site.

Is mordy any more confident that this wont just happen a third time?

In a similar vein if this does happen again is there any plans on how to deal with it?

It really sucks that this has happened, I hate the jackasses that put these viruses out there, they really ruin your day.

Hope he can get this fixed.

It was pointed out that the error happened as a result of an exploit in the older Joomla! version, so Mordy is definitely fixing that. It seems that something happened to make the easy transition to 1.5... not quite as easy as it was meant to be. By keeping up to date with the latest software, the chances of easy exploits happening again is somewhat less.

I think that the one thing that has to be remembered, though, is that Dark Reign has a huge quantity of material on it. Data migration is something that makes hearts stop.

The only way that such things can be dealt with. Careful backups and patience. This is one of the reasons that we're exploring working with a single piece of software rather than multiple pieces. Of course, since everyone is volunteering their time and no-one gets paid for anything...? Well, that might moderate things somewhat.

As it stands, the software upgrade is going to come out of my spare time for the next month or so... Even then it is being done to improve the experience of the "Actual Play" board, and to a lesser extent the Project boards (that are practically dead at the moment), so... Yeah. More information forthcoming.

You and me both. If they're ever caught, chances are that they will get a high-paid job as a result of it. Life is not always balanced, as sucky as that is.

Millandson, i'm having a problem with logging into the new dark reign site, it does not recognise my username and my password even though it has activated it, as i've tried starting a new account. It will not allow that due to the fact that it still recognises my e-mail address. I want to get the bloomin downloads and the dr site always says page not found. My username is "Ravion Lupus" plaease help!.

If I understood the problem correctly that might help. So what does "it still recognising your e-mail" have to do with any of it? Why don't you just get it to send you your password again?
