A group of us from Georgia are planning on making the trip to Tennessee for the regional. Does anyone have any information on this event? Like start time? Is it melee or joust? What side events if any? I appreciate any information I can get.
Any Information on the Tennessee Regional

1. The tournament is Joust
2. The organizer posts on this board as longclaw. (Shoot me an email to orclrob at gmail dot com and I can send you his contact info.

you know that there are 2v2 rules in the core set rule book?
might not be the official ones for gencon, but a good starting place.
what kind of format are you planning on for the 2v2?
We are in North East Atlanta (Gwinnett County). There will be between 3 and 5 of us attending the regional.

~There's a CS rulebook!?
Honestly, I've barely looked at that rulebook except way back when to read over the changes such as the taxation phase and counting gold for dominance . It goes into a bit more detail in the rulebook than on the GenCon page ( here ) so that's great. I'm sure those will work nicely, so thanks for the catch, Lars. Anyone interested in playing our 2v2 should definitely check those out.
I would imagine we'll play 3-4 rounds of Swiss for the 2v2 and call it a night, as there probably won't be enough teams or time to practically cut to a top 4. Should still be a really fun format, and one I've always thought would be a great addition to our game, ever since hearing about the 2-headed format in Magic. I think there could be some nasty and surprising combinations for 2 players working as a team to pull off, and the teamwork element should add another layer of fun to the game, much like playing pairs in golf or doubles in tennis.
Venryk, that's outstanding news about you coming up, by the way! Just email me if you have any specific questions on anything. I would even gladly consider a Melee (or even some kind of draft) on Friday night or Sunday if there were enough interest and you guys could make it early or stay for a while on Sunday.
Will the cut off street date for for legality for Lords of Winter and Return of the Others be the 19th?
I am actually optimistic that Lords of Winter will hit the week before the 19th (somewhere around the 15th or so at the latest?) but I don't see the last CP being out by that time. It seems as though FFG sent LoW to distributors early this week, so most stores should have it by middle of next week by my estimation. But just to be on the same page and cover all bases, yeah, we'll use the 1 week rule, so on or before the 19th will be the cutoff.
Just a bump to remind people about the upcoming tournament this weekend, and also to get an idea of how many players we are likely to have. I have 11 confirmed from TN, with one more possible.
There are 4 of us coming from Georgia. The 5th just dropped out this week but 4 are guaranteed.
That is awesome! Any chance you guys will have time to stick around for the 2v2 tourney after?
We should be participating in it.
16 total. Not Bad. Not bad at all. Looking forward to some exciting matchups. Now if I could only determine what to play.... So many viable options
Venryk (and anyone else who might be coming), if you don't mind, email me ( [email protected] ) so I can give you my phone number before you guys come. There may be an issue with the store where we're playing (although we have a backup plan). The owner's father is really sick and in the hospital, so that may cause some problems.
I emailed you but I will have no access after 3. I left my phone number if after 3.
