Forgive me if this has already been covered; I read the FAQ, but it only seemed to cover specific immunities (eg character abilities, triggered effects, etc). But "Burning Sword" gives a character "Any Phase: Kneel Burning Sword to give attached character +2 STR and 'immune to card effects' until the end of the phase."

Does this mean that, during the phase that the effect is used (and so long as it's winter), the character cannot be killed by anything except a military challenge (not a card effect)?

If I kneeled Burning Sword in the first action window of the Plot phase, would that make the attached character immune to Valar Morghulis?

If I kneeled Burning Sword during the Challenges phase, would that make the attached character immune to Deadly?

I can't think of any more examples, but I guess what this gets down to is: what constitutes a "card effect"?

"Card effects" are anything that come from a card.

Something "immune to card effects" can ignore the effects of anything initiated by a card that tries to act on it directly.

Plots are cards, so plot text counts are "card effects." Keywords come from cards, so they count as "card effects." Challenge results/claim is not initiated by a card, but by the basic rules of the game, so it does not count as a "card effect."

Incidentally, I was originally curious because this seemed incredibly overpowered. I mean, a Baratheon attachment that protects from resets and directed kill effects?

But then I noticed that a.) it only works for one phase during the round; and b.) it has to be winter to work.
