My question is about the last sentence: “If you do,...”
Does doing any precog boost/BR preclude performing another action that round, or does that final sentence only come into play if the pilot performed an action that is not on the bar?

It's a separate paragraph. So it's in effect either way.
The clause is “...you may...”, followed by the actions you can take. The separate paragraph denotes that if you use the optional ability of performing a boost or barrel roll prior to executing your maneuver, then the built-in penalty is that you cannot perform another action during your activation.
Essentially, it is a force user Advanced Sensors. It has the advantage of being a force ability, and not tied to a System Slot, and allows you to take a boost or roll regardless if you have the ability on your action bar (at the cost of Strain if you don’t). But the drawback compared to Advanced Sensors is that it costs a force to use, and cannot be an action other than a Boost or Barrel Roll.
Edited by It’s One Of OursInstructions unclear. Took 4 actions.
If you use the ability you don’t get another action.
As IOoO said, it’s adv Sensors for Jedi

or Sith!

You are quite correct sir
Note: being Ionized blocks it due to the timing. No dial to reveal, no Precog.

can't wait to have my sith infiltrator start jumping around, boosting and rolling before a maneuver.
Try to block THIS S-loop now you goodie jedi!

Shrink it down to a small base and you're good to go!

doh, am unable to read. Would have been hilarious though!

Small ship only

True, but that doesn't resolve the issue of what "if you do" refers to.

This seems like the correct RAI interpretation, but correct me if I'm wrong, you are inferring this using the logic along the lines of "otherwise, why have a paragraph break" as opposed to some explicitly defined convention?
Even if so, I'd say the RAI is probably clear enough it shouldn't be an issue. But then again, a tiny amount of ambiguity is all it takes sometimes.

The consensus here of RAI makes sense to me...but the “If you do,...” just throws me as it makes me wonder which “do.”
It would be more clear without those three words, or if they stayed and the paragraph break started with “Then.”
As stated, separate paragraph.

Wouldn’t the attempt also be blocked by Ion’s “can only preform the focus action” clause?

That's in the Perform Action step. Precog is between the Reveal Dial and Execute Maneuver steps.

Gotcha.
So if anakin in the ywing performs the precog barrel roll it is white, but no white br on his action bar, so he gets a strain?
If it was only about the not having the action in your action bar, then surely they would have put it into the same clause. There's no reason to separate it into its own sentence- let alone its own paragraph -unless it refers to the entire previous paragraph.

No. He's got barrel roll on the action bar, regardless of the color.

But if your ioned, you don't reveal your dial

I'm well aware...
What @SabineKey asked was inaccurate though due to the timing of the effect he mentioned.

If only there were readily apparent and extremely similar examples that can be used...
Precog Anakin Y-Wing with Ion Cannon Turret and Veteran Turret Gunner looks like such crazy fun.
