temporal warp vs. dying

By darthmax1, in Talisman Rules Questions

so if you die on your first move of temporal warp,,,are you able take your two other turns with your new character???

I would say no. becuse the new character don`t get your old objects, followres, gold and spells. you start from scratch.

And if you die, your turn ends right away. and any spells you have in effect on a character ends. you don`t pass this along to a new character. happy.gif

I don't think you can, maybe it could be possible if you use the "Inherited Items" variant (I personally never cared about it). Since you're reborn with all your previous stuff, you may reborn with the Spell still in effect.

But it's silly, isn't it? I won't do such a thing anyway. Better play the Temporal Warp when you have 2 Lives left.

We use inheritance, but we don’t make it automatic. We make it so that, if you pick your random replacement, and it’s the same as the old character, you inherit Items, Gold, Followers, but not ST / CR cones, Trophies, Spells, etc… To “even the odds” due to the ever increasing number of new characters, we came up with a sliding scale method as follows =

Inheritance
If you die, if you pick the same character again, you inherit any of the items / followers etc… that you want. You can avoid cursed / undesirable items. You get total draws equal to the number of characters divided by 14, round up. Currently 33 characters i.e. 3 draws.
This is the sequence after you put your old character in the draw pile.
1-Draw your replacement character.
2-If the replacement character is your old character, you automatically play him/her and inherit.
3-If the replacement character is not your old one, you get (currently) 2 extra draws.
4-If neither of the extra draws is your old character, you have to play the character drawn in 1-, and get no inheritance.
5-If your old character shows up in the extra draws, you can EITHER get your old character with inheritance, OR the character you drew in 1- with no inheritance.

Sounds more complicated than it is. But it beats no inheritance, or automatic inheritance. And, you have a roughly 1 in 14 (ish) chance to inherit…
