The big commerce score - looking for tips

Does anyone have any tips on how to make a lot of credits through through the trading system? It can be for legit goods or illegal.

Are there more comprehensive or alternate rules out there than the ones in the EotE book? It looks like they get the job done, but if I want to make it a bigger focus of my character and there's something more in-depth, I would like to go with that. As far as I'm grok-ing the best money is made by basically to just buy in bulk at book or GM set price and rarity, travel somewhere where the rarity goes up by at least four, then roll to sell and get at least 3 success for 3x (.75% x4) your return on investment.

The trading rules in the CRB are not for making large amounts of money. More like you have some free space in your cargo hold so you'll transport some goods elsewhere while you have other, more high-priority business at your destination.

That being said, the smuggler book, Fly Casual, has rules for making smuggling runs where the entire point is to smuggle goods in and make money.

Gun runs, heavily defended and probably hard to sell but if you dont have morals to who your selling to millions can be made.

Isn't there a fan-made supplement or three about this kind of stuff? Operational Costs, Speculative Trading, plus a Trade Route Economics tool?

As this game is no good Trading-Simulator, it seems necessary to either drop the Mechanical Side of Trading Focus and make it just a narrative side of your Character or just try to figure something out with your GM maybe even some Fanmade supplement. Everything else might lead to unsatisfying results.

Yeah Sturn did it & in my humble opinion he did a great job!

I think I found that spreadsheet. It was more complicated than I needed. Really I'm just looking for what cargo to focus on. Like item X has a better return than item Y using the rules in the two books. Or even transport B until you can afford C then work your way to D. Stuff like that.

My players are just about to head to Jedha posing as medical supply traders. They have changed the ship name to "the Bacta Front" 🤣

I would love to see some trading rules too! I found this thread which is pretty interesting if you want to go right into a lot of detail!
