Truth be told even though I hate that Iden turned traitor on the empire 3 minutes into the campaign, highly likely I'll still get her. Pre-Endor she's spending lots of time fighting for the empire, and even if she's not an operative she's a bad *** field commander.
Casian and k2so/Iden Versio and dio expansions
Do people really hate that she gave up on the empire after Operation Cinder? I mean, that was just needless slaughter of Imperial citizens. Seems weird to hate on her choice to leave after watching her government slaughter its own people, knowing she could've been one of them.
It's less the circumstances of her leaving the empire, and more the fact that the advertisement for the game pre-release hyped up a campaign playing as an imperial agent which I was excited for, but then turned into a real letdown when you only spend a few missions staying loyal to the empire. For someone so heavily indoctrinated in imperial propaganda, Iden also embraced the rebels far too quickly.
Geez... Negativity much? Cassian and K2 are awesome and it seems like not that long ago that everyone was gushing over inferno squad! I have never played the video game and I don't really know the character but I am happy to hear that FFG is willing to dip into other sources for content. We have had so many asinine conversations lately about certain factions not having enough content and now ffg shows that they will pull from a video game and everyone is getting grumpy about it!

Wargamers are a salty bunch, by and large. FFG could send a $20 bill to every one of their customers and they would be on here saying that it was folded incorrectly.
Edited by KommanderKeldothWell. I kinda feel bad not having empire stuff now cause Iden's armor looks awesome. But hey, Cassian! Maybe his 3 pip will involve killing a friendly rebel trooper to gain the recon intel upgrade card.

Precisely this. Plus the whole concept of operation cinder which seemed insane from a strategic point of view; but in the end, the fact that she changed ship to the rebels after only a couple of missions was really a let down.
Folks, folks... FOLKS... It's not like Iden defected only because historically in these games the company wants to give you a taste of both factions (before you inevitably stumble into the multiplayer microtransactions trap) and it's cheaper to pay just one voice actor as the lead character of both Rebel and Imperial campaigns!
Why would you expect a studio under a poor poor small publisher like EA to be able to afford another voice talent and a writer to put together the rebel side of the story?
(Yeah the suggestion that EA multiplayer games have writers makes me laugh too š)

How about a better known secondary or tertiary character? This release also saw Casian and K2 - paired with a video game character really shows an imbalance of characters which to this point FFG has been pretty constant on their Legion releases. Not sure how consistency and balance is bizarre.
I play Imperials in Legion. I donāt play Battlefront, so I have no idea who Iden is. If I purchase this unit, itāll be solely for gameplay reasons, not for the character. Thatād be a first for me in Legion.

I'm pretty much the same, but I'll admit, I don't care that it's a character I don't know well. I'm just happy to have another commander coming and excited to see the new things she brings!

This - I donāt think that many of us are salty that some of the good characters have been passed up again so much as this is pretty down at the bottom of the barrel already.
There are characters from the OT, from Rebels, etc. A single video game is really esoteric, and something I would expect more from xwing that needs a bunch of pilots for each ship rather than a commander you only have 1-2 of out at a time.
Truth be told, if it wasnāt for x-wing miniatures Iād be saying āIden who?ā

Yeah, and thatās a first Iām not sure Iām ready to cross over into. I think itās going to come down to the sculpt options as well - if I can get a helmeted tie pilot mini out of the deal, I may just do it and call her my generic Tie commander. If itās going to be officer uniform done again? Forget it. Even for the mechanics - forget it. Iāve managed to buy only things I like the aesthetic of so far (even if at the beginning it was one of each, the one of each was still cool looking!) I am not about to make this another meta-wing āgotta keep upā game.

We previously saw Bossk and Sabine. It's basically the same thing. To be honest, I saw a lot more people pining for Versio and/or Inferno squad than I did for Cassian.
I play Empire exclusively and I still wanted to see Cassian. He's one of my favorites from Rogue one.
I'm having a very hard time being excited about this. On one hand, I really don't have a problem with the characters. None of them are particularly close to my heart, or honestly all that good, if you ask me, but that's less of an issue. It's certainly a better choice than releasing a second Vader and Luke. That still irks me.
My issue is why the **** are they giving yet another commander option to the Rebel/Imperial factions? I'd dare say that neither faction really needs another commander yet, while the Clone Wars factions are desperately in need of more options. I get it, designing stuff takes time, and different design teams, all factions need releases, yada yada, but based on their "80%" comment, I was expecting, ya know, closer to 80% of upcoming releases to be TCW, at least until every slot had an option. At this point, of unreleased content (not counting stuff released at GenCon), its 8 CW and 6 GCW, and that's of individual expansions and not factoring in the terrain pieces. Do that, and it balances out. So much for pushing Clone Wars content hard to help them catch up.
Edited by Alpha17I think there were some comments indicating that a large influx of Clone Wars stuff was expected early next year. Probably just due to production limits. (plastic type or something else)
Love Iden Versio. She is commander of a black ops unit. Even for those unfamiliar with the character from BF II, that's a cool element to add to Legion.
My only frustration is that I was hoping to cut back on Imps and Rebs when CW released. Not happening with Iden and Cassian coming.

Fits the āScarif or bustā approach that I have been annoyed by in the past though.
We know that GCW units are going to tail off once TCW units start hitting the deck next year. It just so happens that before that tail off we get a few more units, I even suspect that we will see Cassian have some form of link with Jyn (teamwork) that may make her more attractive to play. If FFG have shown anything it's that they have released future upgrades that aid previous unloved units (okay outer rim pilot did very little for the airspeeder but you can't win all the time)
Do we have any pictures or the source of this information?
Because normally when we get a spoiler like this FFG releases an article on that same day (at least in the few cases I remember), but this is from yesterday and right now FFG released an article but has nothing to do with this.
Are there any pictures to confirm this or is it only a facebook message that said so?
Edited by ResoluteHusky
Luke and Vader took a day or two, did it not? They probably have to tell someone in marketing to write up the article about the thing in the game they don't know about. They'll proof it, and post it as soon as they can. Who knows, maybe they didn't have the images yet and they have to put those together first?

Someone claims to have seen the info, no proof was provided as far as I know.
I suspect a flood of additional people seeing it on "preorder" sheets will confirm in just another day or two, if an article doesn't.
To be fair Iden and her droid got an entire book about her surviving the destruction of the first Death Star and two missions with Inferno Squad.............. I mean the book sort of sucked, but it is something.
As for her defecting it seems that in the new canon Imperials have only that option or they die. My guess is since the Empire only last around a year they don't have much wiggle room compared to Legends where the Empire never really goes away.
