In practice games, though, K2-B4 has actually proven useful, most particularly when my ships have whiffed their defensive rolls. More often than not, my opponent gave me the extra evade result rather than take the strain.

Update - I did not take K2-B4 to the Hyperspace Trial. I switched it out for TA-175, and it was probably the best choice I made about that list. The effect triggered at least once every game, and it was hugely helpful in modding dice a number of times. I placed fourth in the trial with it. However, I have to try to build a list that uses K2-B4 and see what might work for its style of play, as I'm interested in trying to figure out an interesting list for each one of the Relays now.
