The Emerald Tournament was in the fictions - it's called Bright Flame Of The World's Glory.

• Court Games (The Emerald Tournament is announced)
• Honour, Duty, Loyalty (Kachiko being Kachiko and trying to 'fix' the Tournament)
• The Bright Flame Of The World's Glory (The Tournament Itself)

I believe that the reference was for "non-hetero" male, e.g. a bisexual or homosexual male.

There have been multiple reigning Empresses.
