Last arc is Siege of Mandalore I’m pretty sure.

I saw an outline of the programming somewhere online with the titles, but lost track of where it was and what was what. I knew Clones (bad batch) was a 4 part arc, Ahsoka was a 4part arc and the last one is the one that keeps slipping. Mandalore could be okay. I'd really like to see what happens in Mandalore to get it to where it is during the Clone Wars. You see the political unrest and planet devastated by war in CW and then you see warring factions in Rebels but you never get to see what happened to cause it. That might be interesting if done well. I don't know if Cartoons are the best platform for that story though.

You actually see the start of it in the Clone Wars during season five. The infighting on Mandalore is the whole reason there's going to be a siege. This last arc should take the story partway into Episode III, and then that'll be the end of the Clone Wars.

As far as using the medium of cartoons to tell the story, well, there shouldn't be a need to doubt in this instance. Most of the Clone Wars has been shown this way (outside of earlier comics). It remains a medium for any age to enjoy.

Yeah, but I've been starving for something in the SW Universe, that actually has nothing to do with a Skywalker family member or Tatooine or any of these haunts we've seen before. Lets' get creative.

I also prefer the live action when done well (see Mandalorian when someone has a little influence and a vision, they can make something SW related, but doesn't feel like a re-hash of stuff we've already seen. And there are new characters!)

What do people like about Ahsoka? (the character)

Honest question. I find her episodes (as do my kids) the most boring if the bunch besides maybe the ones with just droids or just Anakin. I think Obiwan gets the best episodes as far as action and fun.

As a side character in Rebels she became the mystical educator (like old Ben in the 1st movie) but as a main character, i find her a little boring. They make her the whiny voice of reason since none of the Jedi could ever stoop low enough to explain why they're losing the war or listen to reason/explain why they're doing something idiotic. Is she supposed to be the child link? The one the kids relate to somehow?

Honest question - take these new episodes for example (season7)

Bad batch brought all kinds of hype to my house. Even the boys that had literally shown no interest in star wars up to this point are out in the back yard shooting pretend lasers. Then the Ahsoka episodes show up and put a wet blanket on all that enthusiasm. Now they're rewatching the Gungan episodes and holding out til something better is released. My 8yr olds favorite SW movie is Solo.

I'm trying to figure out why she's such a fan favorite. I understand the marketing and political reasons for including her from the beginning.

@buckero0 I'm with you to some extent. I didn't mind her in the previous seasons, but if I could, I would totally skip these new episodes.

I'm older than 8 and I my daughter can't enjoy the Clone Wars episodes, because she doesn't understand enough english. That said I have a completly different experience.

I found the first episode with the clones quite interesting. There was a lot of foreshadowing up to the point were they found Echo. I thought there would be some kind of dilemma, that it would mean Echo's death to free him and there would be some sort of hard decision making. But no -- after that it took 3 episodes to shoot their way out and overcome the stupid droids. For me it felt like a missed opportunity.

The worst part was -- like always -- the romance between Anakin and Padme. That did never work for me neither in the movies nor in the TV shows.

But I like Ahsoka. And I enjoyed the first episode with her. (2nd I will watch tomorrow.) It wasn't so much about action and killing things (only some robot hunting). But she had feelings, found a friend, learned about the Jedi losing their touch with the commoners because of the war.

So people are different. What some like is no good for the others. I hope there will be an episode we both enjoy very soon! May the 4th be with you!

Well, how does one explain why they like something? Everyone would say something different, since the question asked will always elicit a subjective response.

For some, yeah, she was the audience surrogate, bringing people into the universe by asking the questions for the viewer so that things could be explained without everything looking too weird. For others, it was a chance to watch a female Jedi kick some butt, and that was cool (we had no Rey, or other on-screen examples at the time). Some people liked how she played off of Anakin, so that we could see the growth and struggles he went through during the Clone Wars that caused him to distance himself from the Jedi order; it was a whole new and unanticipated direction for his character, suddenly becoming Master Anakin (in name only, of course). For people like me, it was the joy of watching a wholly complete character arc, seeing the bratty teenager learn through trials, errors, and successes, to grow throughout five seasons into the person that could be that old mentor type we see in Rebels. Even while the show was airing, there was always the mystery of what would happen to her character by the end of the Clone Wars (as she definitely didn't show up in Episode III), which added to the suspense surrounding her.

But yeah, her episodes are kinda weak sometimes, and Obi-Wan definitely got the all-star treatment in that series with some great storylines. Lightsaber Lost is still a great episode for Ahsoka, I feel. Heck, my favorite episode in the entire series is The Gathering, which is an otherwise terrible episode about younglings getting their lightsaber crystal on Ilum. If she's not a character you (or your sons) like so much, no one's going to force you into anything. I'm not really a fan of Boba Fett, but it's not a big deal.

Everyone likes different things about Star Wars. Skip the stuff you don't like, and dive into the stuff you do.

I am a huge fan of Ashoka in general, but have not really been a fan of her story arc this season. Granted her arc has really done things so far, and I am sure this was the goal. 1 is to set up the difference between what has been shown in the parts of society involved in the war (jedi, soldiers, government) versus the lives of the common people. They are almost entirely unaware of what is going on, and much like in the Mandalorian have really no concept of what jedi do/are. 2 is to continue the moral push of doing what is right even though she is no longer a jedi, which will probably help lead to her character getting pulled into rebels.

As a character in general, I like that she portrays a young impetuous character, with a significant amount of power for someone her age who sometimes screws up and has to struggle with it. Aside from that, I know a number of young girls who are simply excited about a female character with light sabers, so it works for them.

Cool

I wonder if they'll finish the Boba vs Cad duel episode they started writing but didn't finish?

General Grievous, Clone Wars Episode 9 "Old Friends Not Forgotten”

Are there anymore SW cartoons in the oven for the foreseeable future? I've heard they started preliminary work on a live action Cassian series and they still have plans for Obiwan. But that was before Coronavirus got serious and delayed everything. I had not heard of any new cartoons which i would think would be quicker, easier and cheaper to produce.

The "Long friends not forgotten" episodes was the best off all episodes since the show started. It was a wise decision to make it longer than the other episodes. It was deeper, more surprising, ful of action and ended with a nice cliff-hanger. If only all episodes would have had this quality!

I heard rumors of a Rebels sequel series as a possibility. Focusing on Ahsoka and Sabine searching for Ezra in the unknown regions.

Woof.

I may have to have a stiff drink right now.

Just watched the Phantom Apprentice? Is that the title? Fantastic! 2 thumbs up, couple of minor issues but overall really enjoyed it, excellent season, too short, I want more

This story arc is amazing! Its really bringing a ton of arcs from the past together on a collision course with Revenge of the Sith. Its tragic knowing whats about to happen
