My thought is that with The final season of the resistance matching up with the Rise of Skywalker and Kazudo Xiono looking like his actor Christopher Sean..
.. we MAY get a crossover.. which would be awesome!
Edit: Looking at the cast.. they could transfer over to live action.
Edited by That Blasted SamophlangeI'm hoping season 7 goes right up to the battle of Courascant, it would be nice to have the clone wars fully mapped out by the show.

I don't think it will. However, I bet it will cover Ashoka faking her death, and Rex removing his control chip.

Most likely.
A few years back, when they were doing a Clone wars retrospective, Filoni talked about some of the plans they'd had for (at the time cancelled) season 7. One of the main storylines would revolve around Ahsoka joining up with Anakin and Obi-wan to lead the Siege of Mandalore, but Anakin and Obi-Wan would get called away at the last minute to Coruscant leaving Ahsoka to fight Maul and lead the 501st by herself. This would be how the show linked up with Episode 3.

Didn't 6 cover rex? Or am I remembering wrong?

Well there are more seasons to the show than there were years in the CW “real time”, so one would hope it’s fully mapped out. 😁

It only goes into Tup’s faulty chip and Fives’ finding the conspiracy and being eliminated if I recall. Rex, Wolf, and Gregor still need to remove their chips.

I would be shocked if it didn't, though I would prefer to have had less mapping and more varied stories about different characters. Too late for that now, so I guess I'll just have to be happy that we're getting the rest of the last season.

(please read this in it's intended humor)
What, you think all Troopers look alike?!
:O

They did this with Rebels and The Resistance. Prepare for the incoming deluge of The Clone Wars merchandise.
I love that there is an In-Universe explanation for Count Dooku’s look in the Clone Wars Show: It is Republic Anti-Separatist propaganda (from the Star Wars Propaganda Book by Pablo Hidalgo).

And finally, after all those years, I have money to buy (some of) them!

I hear you. I was trying to get the SDCC Boba Fett at the Hasbro Pulse store and he sold out two days in a row in UNDER 1 minute each day even with the limit of 2 per customer.

I always liked the in-universe history texts like the Propaganda Book . Heck, my single favorite SW books is probably The Essential Guide to Warfare . Always neat to get an in-universe explanation for things, as well as "filler" stories like the Victory Fleet's Clone Wars battles.

The Clone Wars shorts by [the guy who did Samurai Jack whose name I will not attempt to spell on my phone] which predated the Clone Wars series went up to the opening of Episode III. In fact, I think they were all about how Palpatine got kidnapped and relocated to the flagship while the Jedi characters pursued/fought off invading droids.

Gendy Tartikovsky is the producer you are looking for.
And the Clone Wars shorts came in two seasons, with second one leading up to Palpatine being abducted. The first season has Anakin being knighted into full-fledged Jedi status and introduces Asaj Ventress, as well as showcasing various Jedi masters doing their thing. Perhaps my favorite episode is where we learn that the only thing more badass than Mace Windu with his lightsaber is Mace Windu without his lightsaber.
While it's true that the Tartikovsky show is no longer official and has been superceded by Filoni's show, it turns out that there are very few points where the two contradict each other and they can pretty much coexist with little problem. For that reason, I really hope that any upcoming Filoni stories do not lead right up to Episode III.

This^ also watch the second season of the shorts, it explains why grevious sounds like he's about to die anyway in ep3.....

You forgot one important detail, it also introduces General Grievous as well as how badass he truly was and wiped the floor with many Jedi, at once.
I liked the first season of the Tartikovsk y series, though it certainly had its flaws, and stuff I'm not sure I really take seriously (Lance troopers? Really?) The second season is OK, but the Anakin/Obi-Wan storyline is pretty bad in my opinion.
And, honestly, I prefer the CGI take on Grevious over Tartikovsky's, as it fits better with the Episode III version. The Clanker-in-Chief works better as the flashy coward that "runs and hides as he always does" as Mace said, not the unstoppable killing machine that he was in the last few minutes of season 1.

so is there a season 7 coming out ? or you're just talking about "what could have been"
