Enjoy what you enjoy, ignore what you don't. Don't get offended when people call out bad behavior if you aren't the one behaving badly.
This right here. I do wish I was more active in the past thought to see people's reactions for the early Clone Wars stuff and the change for PT. When I first told my friend about Ahsoka he lost his **** on how it destroyed so many comics/books. Now he wants her for Legion and thinks she carried the Rebels TV show lol.

How about jokes about TJL, Solo, ANH, and the Mandalorian. The George Lucas joke is the best one BTW.

Again, this only applies to you. I'm assuming you are offering me your slipper?
I think I'm proving that Star wars fans suck. That they're willing to derail, instigate, accuse and play victim when they don't agree with something thus
proving
their toxicity.
In a thread about the
Mandalorian
people are talking about TLJ. AGAIN. FOR THE MILLIONTH TIME.
All I did was state the fans of this franchise are toxic. I didn't address you. Didn't tag you. I wasn't even talking about you specifically. I even implied in the post I knew that it applied to me as well. Yet here you are. Because though I didn't target you specifically, the slipper fit, and out you came.
I'm willing to drop it if you are, all you have to do is not reply to me. It's that easy.

In earnest it wasn't so different.
All the new content inspired push back as it released. People just have better means of vocalizing their opinions now.

You are the only person doing these things. Before you arrived, another poster and myself disagreed and I went out of my way to make sure that I stated that I was not personally attacking him or his feelings on the subject. You came in and specifically addressed the point I made about people pretending that the entire fandom was responsible for a few bad eggs, and how did you do that? By outright stating that the entire fandom is responsible for a few bad eggs. You did that specifically to cause a problem and be rude.
People are talking about TLJ in a Mandalorian thread because they are both Star Wars films. They are also talking about Solo and ROTS.
You can attempt to rephrase and restate what you've done, but the prrof is in the pudding. You came in, instigated, accused, derailed, and then played victim, all within the span of your first two posts.
The reality is that you are just not a nice person, and you think anyone you don't agree with is somehow beneath you, or "toxic". That's you in the mirror, my friend. And I hope you figure that out and grow up a bit someday.
Step 1 will be realizing that the old "attack and then declare the fight over so that you can pretend you were the bigger person" tactic is not only useless and ineffective, it shows just how little respect you have for other people.
I'm willing to drop it if you are, all you have to do is not reply. It's that easy.

It is weird. I remember how mad people were about the PT.
The mandalorian shows a lot of promise. I'll be curious to see if it doesn't get backlash though.

Figured as much. And I know I am no better, every time some bring up TLJ I just hop on so I can trash AotC and Lucas. Figure I might as well derail the talk further, it is not like it going anywhere positive. Might as well start talking about how much I hate sand.
Also AotC is the easiest movie to go after (a lot more fun then going after TLJ). I also got that soft spot for TPM and I would never ever say something bad about RotS online (I am not brave enough for politics).
I only brought them up in comparison to The Mandalorian . Wish I hadn't.

To be honest, at lot of my distaste for the prequels has faded. It's a franchise built around the Springer-level family dysfunction of space wizards. Brothers kissing sisters, sons killing dads, dads killing moms, creepy uncles... the whole nine yards.

I was around and it was completely different. People thought the movies were bad, but they enjoyed the world building. The PT added lightsabers, and new planets and ships, it really expanded the universe. Dislike for the movies continued to be widespread, and only since the ST have I heard people saying they don't mind The PT, usually to highlight their dislike for the ST.

Pretty much. In the early 2000's we hated the movies but still bought the merch, in a nutshell.

Exactly. I actually remember feeling conflicted, because I thought AOTC was HORRIBAD, but I absolutely NEEDED to know the name of every Jedi at the Battle of Geonosis. Haha

YOU FOOL!!! The rules of internet are clear!! Don't talk about religion, politics, or Star Wars!! You have doomed us all.

I guess, but I figure there is a lot more on the bright side now? Seems like a good time to be a Star Wars fan anyway I look at it. I remember when being a Star Wars fan meant greeting each other with "who shot first?". Or watching the many shows based on making fun of how bad Star Wars was (robot chicken, Family Guy, South Park, Simpsons, etc). The hate for the ST is there, but no where near the lowest point just a few years ago. It may get there, but I do not see it happening or changing anything.

What's amusing to me is how many people were furious that you had to watch the (old) clone wars animated series to find out who General Grievous was, but today, likely because of the follow up animated series, he seems very well received.
I am liking the mandalorian refugees that we see on the planet where he drops off his bounties. Lots of well armed warriors there. I hope we get to see them in action.

Despite how much I dislike the fandom, this is absolutely true.

I suppose that depends on your definition of a "good time". "Who shot first?" Seems very preferable to " Are you even going to watch Episode 9?"

I have yet to hear "are you even going to watch episode 9"
Local theater is packed the first two showings and it's still a month out. Small town even.
As for who shot first, well... we're in the age of Maclunky
If I had the time I'd make a video of Han's neck dodge sync up to "all the single ladies"....

Everyone I know who is a Star Wars fan is sitting this one out. Solo also sold a bunch of seats on presale, and then no more after that. I'm not saying you're wrong, I'm just not sure your experience is gospel.

Definitely not gospel, it's all anecdotal. lol
Solo is a hard study for bad turn out.
I think Solo suffered from a lot of issues. The division of the fanbase definitely played a role, but I don't think it's the whole picture. I think for a lot of people Solo was a good movie but not really a movie they wanted. In my case, I liked 8, but really wasn't interested in Solo. It was the first Star Wars movie I didn't see in theaters the opening day (outside of the OT as I wasn't around yet). Oddly, I really enjoyed the film, but again, I don't have any drive to rewatch it.
I think RoS will be okay.
(actually, I don't think I saw Solo in theaters at all)

Only time will tell, but my point was that the main dividing point in this generation is farm more... divisive than the previous trilogies. Far fewer people were planning to skip RotS for instance. I don't even remember that being a thing. Of course you were going to see Star Wars! That last one sucked though.
I am going to get a yearly subscription to Disney+ purely due to the Mandalorian.

The "pieces" are called "episodes," and one is released every Friday.

I think technically they're called "chapters" to separate them from the "episodes" of the trilogies.
I was surprised they didn't converse in Mando'a. Missed out on keeping it to galactic basic when he was in the Mando camp
