On the other hand, annual card packs may not support a game store if it’s only $20/year per player. You need folks buying the plastic space ships too.

"I have to buy new ships to stay competitive? Cash Grab! RIOT!"
"My faction isn't getting new toys anymore and I don't have new things to buy? BIAS! RIOT!!"
I love all of you, but are we as a community ever going to be happy?
It's a crazy thought, I know, but maybe different sections of the community have different opinions and one of them is upset over the first and the other over the second?

I believe that was their point.
I'm genuinely surprised at the claims of the X-Wing 2.0 app being unexpectedly expensive to create and maintain.
How is it that the free apps on Apple and Android, which were one-person passion projects, ended up being more thorough, detailed, and intuitive experiences than the official companion app!?

So I will never see the Tie Hunter on X-wing...
But we might get Tie Droids or Auto Fighters since they are canon again, that might be interesting to an extent if they wanted to add that to the Empire. Additionally they might make the TIE Hunter canon again too.

I wonder if they could literally just fork an open source one and contribute back to it?

1. Complex interface with an over emphasis on making it look "nice".
2. Bad contract.

3. Additional functions that allow for Hyperspace vs. Extended vs. Scenario play (like the "no aces"}.
I, too, was surprised to intuit that FFG was also so unhappy with the App experience that they are uninterested in applying it to other products.

the app was an abysmal failure and ffg seem unwilling to throw any more money into it. by this I mean I don't see it getting any better or smoother to use than it currently is. iv never used it. YASB 2.0 is my goto squad builder.
chalk it up to 'failed experiment' I guess.

And yet they turned around and are doing apps for many of their other games. Keyforge, Imperial Assault, Lord of the Rings etc.
I too use an app not the official one. It’s a real shame.

Seriously. These factions have so many toys to play with right now. I’m ok with pilot card fuel for the player fire via card packs until new canon ships are seen somewhere.

Don't worry I understand. ![]()
I'm just a little "sad" because Tie Hunter was one of my favorite ship from Star Wars universe but we know they will release a new ship for the Empire next year which is good.
But I still happy because of Epic, Multiplayers and Cards Packs are coming and I can't wait ! ![]()

card packs are experimental which to me suggests they will depend on sales/popularity as to whether they continue with them but I'm hopeful they will do a few more card packs and test out the market for new pilots for existing ships.
The Mandalorian is set after Endor, but many years before the First Order and deals with the Imperial remnants, such as a Moff Gideon who has set himself up as warlord to rule with his remaining forces.
So, there could be more OT era content from that upcoming show.

"The Community" is not a hive mind different people want different things, so someone will always being vocalizing discontent with some decision that doesn't fit their playstyle. Its not a big deal unless you get an inordinate amount of people all complaining about the same thing. Don't worry about it.

This is very odd, I have to say.
They have been successful with other app usage in their games, such as Descent and Imperial Assault. Other miniature wargames have gone the route of apps to better make adjustments to games without conflicting or obsoleting the physical cards, such as WarmaHordes and their app which is the main delivery method of content changes.
I am wondering if this is a business decision to avoid going the route of WMH, where the physical cards are no longer necessary at all for the business model of selling cardboard via the card packs. If they did have a full feature app where you could get the newest released pilots, upgrades, track damage and so forth, the physical cards would be obsolete if it wasn't for the arbitrary rule that they are required to be present for official tournaments.

But again, I read these threads probably waaaay too often. Are you sure about the hive mind thing? Because now that you say it out loud it seems like a really plausible theory. It would explain why so many people seem to be playing the same three lists.
