I will wait a report ! I can't watch at this hour

I'll link their You Tube recording so you can watch it later if you want. The AMA is open to the entire FFG customer base so allot of the questions aren't going to be X-Wing centric.

37:00 'Card Packs'

Ya, he mentioned that the pilot packs would probably be the most likely way for the Rebs and Imps to get new content, S&V has allot to draw on from all 3 eras so we've still got ships in the pipe. Imps also have a new ship coming next year but didn't allude to what it was other than "what you expect" which honestly cover a couple of ships at a minimum (Krenic's shuttle from R1 and the TIE/Rb from Solo). Also mentioned that they'll be keeping an eye on the live action series' for possible ships to add to the original 3 factions. Re-releases of the 1.0 ships into 2.0 are still going forwards from what I can tell.
Sadly didn't answer my question I had posted in the pre-stream thread set up when they announced the AMA, though mine was a bit more narrow in the type of response that would answer it than what he did answer.

I'd be shocked if its not the /rb, but ya never know. I guess it could be the shuttle. Exciting that they're still dedicated to bringing new content across all factions.

To be fair they'd probably lose customers if they didn't atleast try to.
"The future of Xwing is the new factions."
Not a direct quote, but I guess that really dampens down the idea that Rebels or Imperials are going to see many new ship models.
I expect the new Imperial ship will be the TIE/rb.
But the Zeta shuttle/Rogue One really deserves a model, as does the Sentinel shuttle.

This really puts a dampener on what was always has been a really awesome game.
I do hope for new content from the live action series though
interestingly Scum may be the best placed of the 'original' factions to get new content (The Mandalorian mini series will likely give them some extra source material to use in the future)... of course this could be a long way off... and a long time between drinks for scum players.
card packs are experimental which to me suggests they will depend on sales/popularity as to whether they continue with them but I'm hopeful they will do a few more card packs and test out the market for new pilots for existing ships.

So that indirectly confirm that we will never see again Legends contents from X-Wing ?
So I will never see the Tie Hunter on X-wing...

I mean, they have so many new pilots they have to add for the Rebels and Empire. The ships we have for both factions are solid. There really is no need for a ton of new ships for either faction. As a primarily Imperial player this is fine. I am content with the ships we have especially since the standard TIE Fighter is actually good now.

Adding an air-to-ground expansion would create a whole new category of content that could help with the lack of Rebellion Era content.
(I really want a Snow-Speeder / AT-AT ground expansion set).

As a Imperial player myself Tie Fighter and Tie Interceptor is good again but not having something new risks lassitude about the faction.
Most veterans on my local area complain about this. However I'm still happy to see a new Imperial ship is coming next year.

Well they better, I mean how else are we going on to get Tycho, thweek, and Fels wrath?

I get this. I totally get this. But I just want to point out that is community is really hard to please. (This is not specifically about @Arkanta974 your post was just the best illustration of this I could grab).
"I have to buy new ships to stay competitive? Cash Grab! RIOT!"
"My faction isn't getting new toys anymore and I don't have new things to buy? BIAS! RIOT!!"
I love all of you, but are we as a community ever going to be happy?

I think we will get some stuff. But one new ship every two years is going to ask for people to have the patience of an Epic enthusiast.

Probably. It sounds like they are going to sit around and wait for things to fall into their laps from new productions, rather than seek out EU options.
And technically, they still have the backlog of canon ships discussed above.

This asks an interesting question:
How many ships can a faction support?
Is there really a point in making a new Imperial/Rebel ship unless they replace something already in play?

Stuff like this can really add to the game and keep it alive. I think they should get around to Atmosphere Rules, that make a planetary battle different than a space one.

This. For my part, it's a major reason I am playing Republic in 2.0. First of all, no conversion costs, but even more importantly, it's an actively growing faction.

IMHO, stuff like this is EXACTLY what card packs are about. You don't need the model rereleased, you just need more material. This may be the future of Rebs + Imps.

Well, no.

I agree.
My only interest is in ships I didn’t buy in 1.0, which pretty much leaves the ghost, so I am very happy with more card packs. I just hope ffg doesn’t do this as a 1 and done, especially if they don’t sell. (This first one is pretty much guaranteed to do well, K-2SO and s-foils for B-wings), but I wouldn’t mind a rotation of every other year or so. I mean who is going to need card pack 1 a year from now? Very few people.

Well, that depends. We're not privy to the new stuff coming out between now and Q1 2021 that Imperial or Rebel only players may not have access to. Plus $20 annually for new upgrades and pilots for existing ships is something I'd be will to do to support the game and this particular line of products.
Rebels and Empire got 5 years of releases all at once with the conversion kits. Let new factions catch up.
