Hey forum, let's say Obiwan is attacking at R1 and is triggering 7FG. Does adding the CLT focus result count as rolling a maximum of 4 dice? Does it matter which way I chose to resolve these triggers also?

No, Obi-Wan only rolled 3 dice and then added a result to that roll. He could use 7th Fleet Gunner to roll a 4th die and then add a 5th die result using CLT.

Seventh Fleet Gunner only caps the number of dice rolled . Since Calibrated Laser Targeting adds a result after the fact, it is not limited by the restrictions imposed by 7FG.

In a similar vein, though, Ric Olié DOES interact with Seventh Fleet Gunner. When performing a Range 1 attack with the Naboo pilot, when he's moved faster than the enemy, Seventh Fleet Gunner would not appear to work, as the total number of dice rolled would exceed four (2 base + 1 range + 1 Ric + 1 7FG).

Adding a little detail to what @emeraldbeacon said: the source of this is that rolling additional dice is not a form of dice modification as defined by RR (1.0.4) p.9-10 under Dice Modification , so the order is not optional. You must roll the extra die during the normal roll dice step then add the focus result at some point during the modify dice step. Adding more results does not run afoul of "rolls a maximum of 4" because adding a result is not rolling an additional die.
