I dunno if I should make one big thread for ship designs or something but I really enjoy making these. I think I'll start including images, perhaps use them as a visual aid every once in a while.

The Rogue-Class Starfighter!

This is the MagnaGuard's (just realized I've been incorrectly referring to them as Magnu Guards for years now) ticket onto the mat and boy is that a nice looking ticket (for a nice looking droid). I am gonna try and make Cad Bane a pilot for the ship as he's a personal favourite of mine and I think the CIS could always use another proper ace pilot, even if he probably at least also belongs in Scum, if not only there.

I am unaware of any organic pilots aside from Bane so please lemme know if there are.

CHASSIS:

3 V / 2 agility / 5 hull / 1 shield ---- calc. / lock / barrel roll ---- talent / mod

Finding it hard to distinguish the base stats from the belbullab. I wanna put it in the price range between it and the infiltrator.

No clue what stats to give it, but here's the ship ability.

Hardiness : When you are destroyed, you are not removed until the end phase. (only applies to magnaguard pilots)

PILOTS:

Cad Bane: I6 (doesn't use ship ability, replace calculate with focus)

[3 recurring charges]

When attacking, you may spend 2 charges to reroll one of your dice. If you choose a crit result, assign a deplete or strain token of your choice to the defender. If you choose a hit result, assign a jam token to the defender.

ALTERNATE ABILITY: (Adapted from Whalers on the moon 's ability to synergize with Todo, all credit to them)

After you reveal your dial, you may choose 1 other friendly ship at range 0-3 to suffer 1 damage. If you do, you may perform a boost with a speed 2 template.

Whalers on the moon bringing us a simpler, more thematic, effective design. Still think my ability with the dice is cooler though



Todo 360: I3 (also doesn't use ship ability)

When you are destroyed, each ship at range 0-1 suffers 1 damage and rolls 2 attack dice, suffering each result rolled.



(Two Dot) MagnaGuard Escort: I3 (might lack a sensor slot)

Setup : After placing forces, assign the Overwatch condition to 1 friendly ship with a higher initiative value than you.

Overwatch : When attacking or defending from a ship locked by a friendly MagnaGuard Escort , you may spend that lock to cancel a focus result on the enemy ship's dice.

TITLE:

Xanadu Blood

Adds relay

After you do a red move, you may gain one cloak token.

(I really don't know what to do for the title, there's already a cloak-granting title in the faction .)

Cad Bane: Choose one friendly ship in range 0-2 to receive one damage. If they do, you may perform a boost using a 2 speed template.

Xanadu blood title could just be the text from cloaking device and adding an illicit slot.

I think the CIS should probably add another ship next that adds diversity to the network calculations pool to keep up that beautiful wonky faction identity. but I really hope this one makes it to the table as well.

Cad's ability should definitely be related to boost actions, and XB's should be cloak action plus maybe bomb slot?

Yes! I would definitely like to see the Rouge come sooner, rather than later for the CIS. I could see these as being counterparts to the Republic's N-1s: average stats, but decent pilots, ship ability, and dial. When I saw the Handmaidens I immediately thought that role and would be great for Magnaguards. Since the N-1 got Full Throttle and act as mini-Defenders, I think these should have the Advanced Droid Brain ship ability, and act as mini-IG-2000s/escort fighters. Both the Magnaguards(IG-100) and IG-88s were both made by Holowan Mechanics, so it just feels right lore-wise and keeps the CIS faction identity. Since these would be elite droid fighters, I think all pilots should get talent slots. CIS doesn't have generic droid fighters with talents.

If you are a Belbullab-22 Starfighter, each friendly Magnaguard in the attack arc may spend up to 1 calculate token to add 1 Focus result instead.

•IG-484 [Initiative 2 ] Friendly ships at range 0-1 with the Networked Calculations ship ability may treat your calculate tokens as their own. Moar Calc

Holowan Combat Droid [Initiative 2 ]

These would be great as light flankers or escorts to the Infiltrators/Belbulabs, making their green dice better. I'm thinking close to Hyena-based prices.

I'll admit I don't remember much about his specific abilities in the show beyond his resourcefulness and skill. I especially don't know what he's like in a starfighter. Any reason for the boost-oriented abilities?

P.S. love that pilot ability, way more simple and effective especially considering the high population of expendable units in the faction.

Because his crew ability does that, basically, and crew and pilot abilities are frequently thematically similar.

I haven't watched TCW since it left Netflix, but I remember Cad Bane selling out his allies in order to get away or get a shot off. Thought it might be worth it on a drone once/game or so, maybe more if he had Daredevil.

What about flipping one of your nearby allies' dials for the boost? Maybe make it so you have to choose an I3/4 minimum ship?

Don't know if you could include a minimum initiative, but this is perfect and I'm angry that this doesn't exist already.

I'd probably give Cad some sort of bonus when attacking/defending if the enemy ship has a Force rating, to reflect his specialty against Jedi.

The way I opted to go about that can be seen in the condition card for the magnaguard escort. Magnaguards are nice for dealing with jedi (just like they are in-universe) cause they cancel focus results, but aren't strictly limited to only be able to be effective against jedi, as all ships need those focus results. You could give Bane a similar ability, or one where focus results can't be modified, etc.

I like how you went about naming your pilots and the 'Guarded' condition has a nicer ring to it and better theme than 'overwatch' I think.

What I wanted to do with my condition was to allow the magnaguards to support Grievous from a distance and allow him to flank properly. Allowing that for attack and defense might be a bit excessive though.
