Bay of Ice and Atack from the sea

By Moneylender, in 2. AGoT Rules Discussion

I´m a little lost on the timing in this one...

"bay of ice: After a player wins initiative, that player kneels all cards named Bay of Ice, then draws a card."

"attack from the sea: When revealed, kneel all locations."

Well I know that you count initiative before the plot effects happen... but I´m stil not sure which effect comes first, and if I get to draw that card...

Thanks for your help!

The plot effect always comes first. You do not get to draw the card.

Interesting. Yet again I would have thought the opposite Ktom. Doh! gran_risa.gif So my thinking, looking at the plot phase flowchart, was initiative was counted and the high initiative player is determined before "When revealed" plot effects resolved. Thus assuming Bay of Ice would resolve before plot effects. Where am I amiss? Perhaps it's Bay of Ice wouldn't happen until player actions?

I believe all of the framework events resolve first (including the "when revealed..." plots), followed by passive abilities (e.g. Bay of Ice) triggered by those events. Only saves/cancels can happen while the framework events are being processed. That's how I interpret the charts anyway.

Laban is correct. You are amiss in that passive effects to one framework event do not activate until all framework events in the window have been resolved.

It's the same reason Deadly comes after awarding unopposed and Renown, and why ALPHD must always come after claim.
