Every First Order Trooper and Canon Sith Legions

Seems a bit silly to have the goggles when that equipment could be integrated into the helmets but still looks cool

I keep seeing people do this and it's just not my cup of jawa juice. I really don't want tacticool stormtroopers with chest rigs, night vision and .338 lapua magnums. It's an aesthetic that just isn't star wars. I like the fact that star wars guns are cobbled together from ww2 leftovers. I like the fact that IG-88's head is part of an airplane engine. I like the fact that everything seems simultaneously ancient and futuristic. I just don't want star wars to turn into yet another Halo ripoff.

Being NOT Sci Fi helps here.

Star Wars is Space Opera = Rule of Cool

However, cool is highly subjective.

They were a viable faction right out of the gate with The Force Awakens , their Canon Specialized units include:

I would say the movie alone gave them two corps, two commanders, a support unit and maybe a special forces. Why people say they can't be an army for a small sized game like Legion is beyond me. The only thing I'm left puzzling over (having only watched the movies) is a resistance support unit, but you can slap a new crew on an e-web and call it a day.

Thanks for noticing. Much like Senor Cardgage, I'm so cool that people don't even know I'm cool.

Perhaps you're cool because you froze before you reached the first marker?

Resistance not having a good support option (and the the First Order bike-like unit not being out yet, I know they could do emplacements but they like to start with vehicles) is probably why there isn't a "Force Awakens" core right now. FFG probably needs all three movies to come out and hopefully LFL will loosen up a little that they might be able to fill in some gaps, Resistance has really been the weak link there I think, unless FFG wants to get real out there and balance the faction so that you mostly run commanders and operatives and like, minimal Corps.

Apparently the 1st Order has a snowtrooper "machine gun on a jetski" thing, dunno how true to scale the toy is, if it's correct it looks about right for a Legion support unit. Throw in Kylo Ren and a corps of snowtroopers and you have half a TFA box. I'm completely unclear on who should be a "resistance" army commander though. No one in the movie fits the bill of an iconic starter set leader. Guess may as well go with Rey since she's the main protagonist but no one's really obviously the right opposite commander to Ren like Luke & Darth or Obi-wan & Grievous were.

It was actually featured in a deleted scene. Could actually hold a small group of people via open transport rules.

This vehicle would be perfect for Legion

Well sadly that's apparently the size of a T-47, but that would still be a GREAT choice for legion regardless for some variety, give a real space jeep as opposed to the rebels space technical.

Rey is probably best for a core box for opposition to Kylo.

That's less than half a meter longer than a BARC, so I don't think the size is an issue. If they have to scale it down to more easily fit on a base, it wouldn't be by much.

True, but the BARC is a lot leaner (even with sidecar) and works as kind of a compact unit, the LIUV is broader, holding at least three guys in a thicker wedge shape, I'd much rather see it something about the Landspeeder in scope as a unit, with Transport:Light etc. The X-34 is shorter than a BARC too, doesn't mean isn't still classed as heavy (because of all the extra guys and guns it can pack).

The problem with Rey is that she isn't a commander. She doesn't show any real leadership. With how the new movie (and other fiction) are playing up Poe, he would make a great choice, to further differentiate any theoretical starter (not all starters need lightsabers). Rey is more of an operative in my opinion. As I've said before, I honestly think the Resistance needs to be designed another way. Finn as a corps option - basically a toned down operative. All the heroes from the films can be units unto themselves.

While dead at the point Poe is becoming more than just a hotshot pilot, Phasma would be a good alternate to Poe.

Another thing to consider is that not all starters would need to be built along the same lines of having a support. You could easily have Poe as commander, Finn as a corps option, another hero or a squad of resistance troopers, and Rey as an operative in the box - this is not likely, as FFG would want to sell as many expansions as possible.

You're going to get Resistance Troopers and Resistance Veterans, and you will like it! - every licensed piece of star wars media from now on, probably.

If FFG does want to break away from their usual MO, after ROS comes out the Resistance would viably have Creature Troopers in the form of space cavalry, at least.

The Sith Trooper and Jet/Jump Trooper designs had their origins in Solo A Star Wars Story .

I really like the Royal Guard Hybrid

Sooo, would it be that far fetched that maybe instead of a support they could add operatives in their place?

Resistance could then have Poe (Commander) and Rey as an Operative.

First Order could have Phasma (Commander) and Ren as an Operative. With a later release of "Supreme Leader" Kylo Ren which would be a commander.

That is what I've been saying. Along with Finn being a corps unit (mini operative - no command cards, but a hefty single model unit)
