It IS FINALLY HERE!!!! 1st Runewars Fan Expansion!!!

Terrinoth/Mennara will live on, hopefully with FFG under Asmodee, but certainly with the fans. Your ideas are looking good thus far, some good feedback from others too.

As I've not got round to it yet with all my other Terrinoth fan projects (and the priority jobs at the flat taking up my time temporarily), maybe you or somebody else could have a go at making use of Skarn from Descent- I really want to do this at some point but I'm happy for others to think about it too. I've got three 'Manor of Ravens' Descent sets so I can make an epic haunted manor that shifts and has variations of rooms, tricks and traps and all that horror staple stuff going on. And three Skarns so I can make custom Skarn units growing in size and power by adding some desktop mini furniture/scenery bits.

Not sure what would be its armies/units- Skarn's sort of a lone 'whatever-it-is' in my RPG project- but based on its connections maybe some wizards/elementalists, necromancers/flesh moulders and ravens :) as well as things to do with the haunted manor such as traps and mimics, similar spooky stuff and wizardy/magical things such as reanimated furnishings- you could throw in some sort of poltergeist entity/connection. From the ideas of Manor of Ravens, bandits that have foolishly raided or taken up residence in and around the manor and its outbuildings and wraiths (I may create a specific type of ravenwraiths) /similar that haunt it are other unit options - perhaps the bandits can unwittingly join this army should they fall.... May be possible to experiment with a thieves group that are just out to raid and collect valuable items, maybe a mechanic where they're their own thing - a threat that's there outside of any battles- and not allied to any particular group/faction, thus may be harmless to, may run away from, or may fight anything else they meet, depending how each situation plays out. If it works they'd be a presence/distraction players could use to their advantage or maybe even recruit.

Maybe a dose of ambiguity over if the entity 'Skarn' is good/evil and an origin mystery (nobody knows)- look up Skarn and Descent- Manor of Ravens for info/ideas. Would be challenging but clever to come up with a way this battle could take place in the manor and its grounds- but could be tricky as it's quite an addition to the game to be able to play out a battle inside a building- shouldn't be impossible to think of ways though. These can be longer term projects so the rules etc could be developed and refined over time.

Ideally between us eventually all the Descent units will be Runewarsified. Others have potential too such as an Ariad / Queen Ariad spider army, a vampire army, a plagueridden Trollfens horde and harking back to first edition a (perhaps creepy/ netherworldly) pirate army. And of course at some point there must be dragons :) There could even be a Mennaran legends heroes army of adventurers wanting to take on the evils of the realm.

On Skarn's army: as well as working on three different sized Skarns (original, and two 'growing' constructs) I now have a couple to make some 'disassembled' models- as Skarn can rebuild itself I thought it would be interesting to sculpt some 'broken' Skarns (maybe sculpting a 'manor's heart' for one) which in battle would somehow be weakened as they're mid-self-repairing.

Need to make some Skarn rules now!

And (although it might need a workaround- as the game is really for smaller armies- such as a multi-battle approach or multiple figures being single/connected units thus more for movie style epic battle visuals) rules for bigger armies- I've got twelves of some of the best RWM models so even if it means a totally unique custom ruleset it would be fun to have some big battles. I got the multis for my Descent/RPG projects but ott RW battles now start to appeal :)

Can have fun with the variety when I paint them.
