Just a curiousity question for those on the other side of the world... I'm headed that way in a few weeks and wouldn't mind trying to get a couple of random casual games in if there's a shop near enough to Turbot and George. I expect to be limited to walking distance, sadly.

Not from there, but jealous. I’ve always wanted to go to the Australia Zoo. It’s Steve Irwin’s Zoo and it’s only like an hour away from Brisbane I think.

Unfortunately you seem to be dead in between the two primary shops in Brisbane -- Ace Comics & Games at Annerley and The Magic Vault at Alderley. Both are about a half hour trip by public transport.

If you decide it's worth it, the regular game nights are Wednesday for the Magic Vault and Friday for Ace. Both kick off in the early afternoon.

EDIT: Although, I suppose fair warning is in order: depending on what exactly you mean by a few weeks, things might be rather quiet locally. There are two major tournaments in Sydney on consecutive weekends in early September which many of the local players are attending.

30 minutes by public transportation isn’t bad, though it all depends on time available on the table vs time traveling. I’ll check my proposed schedule, vs store hours.

That said, yeah... looking at second and maybe third week of September.

Both shops are open till 10pm on game nights. I generally don't get in until 6:00 and still get at least 2, often 3 games in. Occasionally four, if a couple are particularly one-sided.

I’m definitely looking at the Friday nights at the Ace. No early office times the next day. Certainly worth packing a single list, anyway.

I'll find out if there’s any team building exercises though as the date gets closer.
