Also begs the question: Will huge ships finally get 45° turns? I don't see how ships with a 30° turn can stay on a 3'x3' board...

Looks like you can do a white 1 bank followed by a red 0 bank so, yes, kind of and slowly (over two turns), and it causes stress, which likely will have some negative effect on huge ships seeing how much red is on the dials.

This is at least true for the Rebel corvette, I don't think the Raider's dial has been spoiled yet.

Ya know, I am surprised that they didn't add him to it. They have Admiral Ozzel and Captain Needa, then two generic commander cards. Could have slipped a First Order commander in there.

One small-large ship bank IS 45 degrees. The spoiled huge ship dials show banks but not 90 degree turns. The maneuver tool they’ve only hinted at and not shown is the big wild card. A huge ship bank might be 45 degrees but it could still be 30 like 1e.

My guess is that the huge ship maneuver tool will be different for 2e because if it was the same, they would have shown it in the spreads.

I don't know... I'd really prefer to see him playable in standard (is that too much to hope for?). Mothma, Dodonna, Rieekan, etc. I don't mind holding back to Epic because they're typically seen on gigantic capital ships anyway.

And Canady isn't?

And when did we ever see Dodonna on a capital ship?

Canady seems like a really close parallel to Ozzel or Needa. Shows up for like 2 scenes, commands a major ship, and dies.

He's coming soon.

No, I meant in the movies. He's only shown at the base on Yavin, isn't he?

He's on a Nebulon B in Rebels S3 IIRC. I could be wrong.

Then again, Mothma rides the Ghost. So yeah, I guess my whole argument just falls apart. 😛

Not in the movies but in Rebels, we see Dodonna command capital ships. I forget whether he was commanding the bridge of a Neb-B, Hammerhead, or CR90 - but he was definitely on the bridge.

I wish they'd had a second maneuver tool and placed them slant to slant. If the resultant corner was square then it'd be 45° for certain.

Here's another shot of it from the same video. Seems conclusively to be 45 degrees.

Can anyone explain how this device is believed to work?

Left side (based on how they're holding it) of the template is for straights. Right side is for banks. I watched them do the 0 bank here:

Video as @Hiemfire linked... but if you want a screen cap instead:

Well, that's cool. Considering the ability to white 1-bank, then red 0-bank (if it has them like the Rebel corvette does), you should be able to maneuver a lot easier on a 3x3 field. As well, if the Raider doesn't have a red 0-bank, you could run Admiral Ozzel who could let you convert a white 1-bank to a white 0-bank for 1 damage.

I mean, its still a huge ship, so it will be tricky, but better than 1E.

So are they still saying this is gonna be playable in 200 points? cause that seems kinda broken

While they said that huge ships will be allowed in 200 pt casual games, they didn't specify which of them will fit in a 200 pt list.

im aware. I was hoping they had clarified, as it looks like huge guys are cheaper now

If the Raider and CR-90 are cheap enough to run in 200 pt lists it'll likely be with 0 - minimal upgrades. They'll be tanky with a bite from heck, but not as potent as they would be in the larger Epic games.
